IMPORTANT VIDEO UPDATE, PLEASE READ The creator of the Salt route AU has unfortunately gone through alot of messed up stuff that I can’t summarise here, and without going into details, it was a very traumatic experience for them. and because of that experience the creator has requested that people stop making content with the AU since that AUs creation was deeply connected to their abuser… that content obviously includes my video Im not deleting this video, since it was released before the notice. However I obviously agree with the victim here. The AU now ends with my video, its the right thing to do. The video now acts more as a final summary of the AU, and I heavily discourage people from continuing the AU. TLDR: Groomers and those who exploit minors will rot in hell. I aim to make this community as welcoming as possible. And that includes listening to victims and respecting their wishes!

I absolutely loved the Salt route AU. I think the part where Spamton is forced to kill the blue Addison is just really sad. The two get together and Blue apologizes for his past mistakes, and yet it's all thrown away as Spamton is forced to... kill him. This video did a great job explaing the Salt route, keep up the great work!

I had already heard of this AU, but never really took the time to watch the full thing on KZbin. I saw someone commenting on how they actually started crying because of how Kris (us) treated Spamton. I got a little worried, so i decided to watch it. Though I skipped through it fairly quickly, I did understand the story, and saw the saddest and scariest scenes. Such as Spamton getting beaten up. And it actually made me feel really bad too! I’m glad it’s not really canon, or else it would’ve been the saddest route ever. Dreams are wild, man

Fun fact! The salt route is actually based on a couple of dreams someone had about deltarune! People found out, and just grabbed onto it and animated it. The Snowgrave you basically just break Noelle, and for Salt Route it’s just that but for Spamton.

The tumblr post mentioned that if you failed to convince spamton, the route would continue but there would be less battles. In jqr's animation, kris beats spamton up on the mansion instead of trying to convince him, which leads to less enemy encounters, thing mentioned on the tumblr post, so imo that brutal scene was there just to focus in this aspect a little bit.

Woah, wasn't expecting my video to appear here! I'm kinda honoured You brought up some really good criticisms relating to it too, I gotta admit looking back this there was much that could've been changed, like you've said, random jumscares were sprinkled for the sake of a shock factor, same can be said when Kris beats up Spamton, I guess at the time I was trying to pull on people's heartstrings but now it just comes off as trying too hard to do so, a sentiment that's been echoed a ton or is divisive among people, as a whole like you said there were a lot of points where it went too far Another point I wanna quickly touch on is the lack of salt route content after my video came out, not because I disagree but because I never noticed till you brought it up now, I sorta moved on fast after it was released so I didn't quite see the effect it had on fan-content, so it came as a shock to hear that I might've been the cause of that, which would suck if that were the case since that was never my intention, hopefully in the future I can do something about it with other stuff that doesn't lead to the same outcome Overall phenomenal video and hey, maybe this *will* inspire some talented people to make fan content once more!

A remake could be done if you want to, but anyhow, i think that the kris beating spamton up scene works well to showcase that part of the tumblr post that said that if you failed to convince spamton, then less enemies would appear.

Honestly the scene where Kris beats Spamton puts it at the top of my favorite fan creations. Not because I find it awesome or edgy, just that it feels so out of place for anything else in deltarune it makes the salt route that much weirder.

there's actually an AU called the "Playmate Route" with that exact purpose wouldn't say it's as dark as salt route but it's still pretty fuckin dark iwon't spill too much but one of the darkest parts is when jevil says "Lightner.. I don't really think this is a game..." with a concerned look and then you psychologically beat him up (as opposed to Spamton where you beat him up physically)

In my opinion, Herobrine is one of the few outliers in terms of good Creepypastas, mainly because he’s more of an urban legend. Minecraft, when you think about it, is already a horror game. This was more prevalent during the beta days, with the heavy fog and lack of music / sound.

you know what would be a intesting the queen fight instead of it just being without dialog it is Kris stopping Queen and Nolle from making a dark fountain without Spamton like a reversal of the in game snowgrave route. Spamton comes to the rescue at the end and has the dialog loop as sean in the original salt route also Spamton uses starts with a malware attack that is a parallel to Nolle's iceshock then turns into the heartbite attack later that realy starts making him look terrible and kris has to drag him around after using it

I had stumbled onto the salt route without realizing that there was more to it before the animation came out. The animation had became so popular that I thought it was just a 1 time thing that became popular. Oh boy was I wrong. Still, the concept ideas are as good as they are horrifying. And it was all because of a dark, darker and darker dream.

well, im just gonna make a quick deltarune story here because im bored. route name: betrayal so you would start the snowgrave regularly, but you would not respond to any text. (clicking the text in the middle which is empty, which obviously isnt in the real game but yeah) and then noelle would ask you why you arent talking, and you have 2 options: proceed or betray. if you pick proceed, then you will continue real snowgrave route. but if you pick betray, you will leave her in the next forcefield puzzle. she would get saved by queen, and when you get to spamton neo, right as you hit him for the 6th time, you will hear the snowgrave spell noise. but the next time you see kris, he is frozen in an ice block like berdly. and spamton just flies away.
