EDIT: Thank you so much for 10K Views, as a thank you, ill answer some Frequently asked questions: "Why isnt Spamton the major" This is my most common FAQ. Put simply i think the Major has to be the last conventional secret boss (chapter 5) since the Major and the clown are the main characters in the episode, and exact opposites. Plus the Major actually broke free from the cylinder, whereas Spamton couldn't "See past the dark". Also I'm really confident with the Spamton and hobo death connection. "Will the bagpiper play the song from the sea" that's a idea i didn't think about. the song from the sea is very complex. I don't think i can answer that one (AKA Thats a future theory. Another crazy one, so very on brand)... "So is Gaster the chapter 6 secret boss" I personally don’t think Gaster will be a secret boss for chapter 6/7. I don’t know/cant predict how many secret bosses the game will have but it might just be 5 (If its more, they wont fit into the theory). However I personally do think that Gaster will be Introduced as a character in chapter 6. After “the Majors” attempt to escape. IDK what Gasters role in the story plot wise will be, but I’m really confident with the Grey door connection and the musical comparison (even if my understanding of music theory is non existent. "So is Gaster Rod Sterling" Well i didn't want to say it... but Possibly. personally was thinking of Gaster as more of a representation of the "Twilight zone" itself.

When I first heard Gaster’s theme, I immediately thought of The Twilight Zone. It has to be the inspiration for it. Anyways, about the ballerina, she’s the one who suggests that she and the other prisoners are “unloved.” For the longest time, I’ve had the hunch the chapter 3 would have a secret boss longing to be loved. So far the secret bosses had an internal conflict that Kris also has (Jevil and being disillusion, plus Spamton and fear of losing control). I feel at least one of the secret bosses will have to relate to Kris’ fear of being unloved. I have a strong feeling that Chapter 3’s secret boss will be a former entertainer (possibly a ballerina) who used to be adored by everyone who now has no one who cares about them. Kris, who feels abandoned by their brother and worries their parents will do the same, can relate.
@ValueNetwork Жыл бұрын
I really like how you describe the ballerina here. You’ve helped me see her as a actual Deltarune boss! I’m not gonna lie, this has some good water to hold. While I can believe that Toby could have gotten inspiration from the twilight zone episode, im not sure how much of a extent he would plan to use it. The gray door, the trapped people being toys, and the parallels with the hobo and clown fit really well. The only issue is that i don’t think that Toby would take this much from just one episode of the twilight zone. This would be basing whatever the origin of the secret bosses and gaster on top of a story outside of the scope of the game, something I don’t think he would write that easily. Not to mention that if the internet where to discover the connections before the game comes out, there would be a high chance that they would be spoiled, something I think Toby would like to avoid. He may have used the toy characters for references for the first two secret bosses, but now plans to not use the other toys for the rest, either using inspiration from other obscure media (I’m not saying TZ is obscure, just the episode is as it’s one of many the show had produced) for the rest of the bosses or just writing them from his and his teams own creativity. Time will only tell though, as he already has the major story beats written for the rest of the game, so changing them now is unlikely, even if this therroy is right and he prioritizes letting the community not guess the next step in the story. All in all though, this is a fun theory. I see some parts are probably about 95% true to the case, and I can’t wait to see how this ages when the rest of the chapters come out.

Do I think this is the answer to Deltarune? No, but I think you're dead on that it's very clearly inspired. I doubt things will line up perfectly, they already don't really with Spamton and the hobo, but I had the thought myself that the Mystery Man theme had a weird similarity to the Twilight Zone theme, and the various phases of denial and acceptance of the secret bosses also lines up incredibly well. I don't think it's a stretch that Toby Fox would intentionally hearken your mind back to Mr. Serling specifically to invoke that same uneasy feeling that the show presents you with. The black and white theme, the gray door, and even the appearance of the Mystery Man all line up way too well. I'm surprised you didn't mention it, but one of the biggest hallmarks of Gaster so far seems to be the monochrome appearance of his followers, almost as if he's viewing the world through the perspective of an old TV show...

if i may add on to this, the ballerina could actually work as either a green soul fight (DDR) or the purple mode (which resembles music notes/a rhythmic dance from line to line); assuming chess theory is proven correct and the 4th dark world is in the church; the bagpiper could work as some sort of discarded instrument(broken church organ?), with the aforementioned soul modes still working due to the musical nature of the fight. the major could honestly work as any of the other colors, due to his bravery in trying to escape the prison, patience in convincing his fellow prisoners to help in said escape, and his integrity shown by him staying constantly focused and not giving up hope despite his odds (though i personally lean towards bravery since it is the most "martial" of the soul traits) p.s. do you think the soul modes are going to be determined by the order in which the human's items or by reversing the order of the genocide bosses, and what is your opinion on chess theory?

8:05 My oc is literally the major. My character known as the pawn is the leader as well as secret boss of the chapter 5 dark world. He strongly goes against fate as he wants Kris soul to be able to have choice and to stop the knight on his own. Not necessarily similar but he as a leader of people not aware of their prison he has to put a facade which slowly cracks due to pressure and opportunity for freedom provided by your soul. Their soul type is blue or integrity as they are an Important but mistreated item in the light world specifically an item in sans' shop which is the dark world location. The trait matches as integrity is honesty and he can't be honest about his feelings because his people will think he's crazy like the other secret bosses. He goes against the other secret bosses in different ways(despises jevil's denial of being free and spamton's reliance on others and a similar major lack of integrity as an advertising salesman) though it isn't relevant to the theory. He is like sans in undertale who thinks they can't stop you but the difference is that pawn tries to anyways like Spamton. Though Jevil is in acceptance so he refuses to try, he is in denial because he accepted his fate. Also because he is the dark world leader, during a weird route of sorts, he can build a mech like giga queen to stop you, except this time is much worse. The major attempting to break free can represent the pawn seeing the state of how and who created them(explaining a hatred for sans) as well as breaking free of the knight's control. He accepts that he can't break free but still places his hopes on kris to be happy as the one who truly understands their plight. Also Solis. If you know you know. Though he fights against fate rather than acceptance and dream but he IS a ballerina, so 1/2 points.

If we assume that the narrator at the beginning of Deltarune is Gaster, it's possible to imagine that the 6th and 7th characters represent Gaster/The Narrator from The Twilight Zone and the Player/Viewer. This interpretation arises from the similarity between Gaster and The Narrator as omnipresent entities who directly present intriguing stories for observation directly us the Viewer. The whole line of "...We will not end the nightmare, we'll only explain it..." reads a lot like a thing that Gaster would only say like in Entry 13 or Toby's Twitter "Hacks". Furthermore, both Deltarune and The Twilight Zone share the element of a liminal drug trip in their introductions. This parallel is notable as it sets the stage for both of their subsequent stories. It's interesting to note that the themes of "ANOTHER HIM" in Deltarune's introduction contain the Gaster Leitmotif, while The Twilight Zone's theme has been mentioned to sound similar to Gaster's Theme. inb4 the Player's Vessel and Gaster become optional superbosses for 310%-ing the game

Twilight Zone and Deltarune, two things I fucking love in one theory? Ok, you've got my full attention.

I feel like the third boss would be the major due to wanting to escape like the previous ones and the cowboy theory
@ValueNetwork Жыл бұрын
1) I put the Major in 5th because the clown is 1st. Also because the last secret boss being the strongest and most knowledgeable makes sense to me 2) A army Major isn’t a cowboy. This theory is sadly incompatible with woody theory (although I definitely believe in woody theory more than this!)

You know, I saw a lot of people theorize about what would happen if you opened a Dark Fountain in a Dark World. What if it gave access to an area called the Twilight Zone, and it's in this Twilight Zone that Dess is trapped ?
@ValueNetwork Жыл бұрын
Ok... That sounds cool. Im hearing you out...
@Oceane1803 Жыл бұрын
@@ValueNetwork Well that's all I got actually ^^' My theory is more of a speculation with no actual evidence that's based on this possible Deltarune inspiration that is Twilight Zone. As for the Dark Fountain in a Dark World thing, I didn't come up with it and I'm pretty sure there are several videos diving in the subject better than I would ^^' So I'll let you search for that if you want.

Another interesting connection i thought of here is with the piper and the "old song that comes from the sea". Perhaps this is foreshadowing the boss based on the piper, who will play the song from the sea.
@ValueNetwork Жыл бұрын
The song from the sea is a entirely different can of worms theory wise. Don’t get me started on “Deltarune is the book of revelation from the Bible” theory (I’m not joking)

This Is a great theory, if i had to Guess the Major could be Kris since Who else has watched all these secret bosses fail to reach Freedom but us and frisk, sure, Susie and Ralsei also saw them, but Susie didnt talk with spamton nor did She really get what was happening, meanwhile even if ralsei does know what Is happening he doesnt seem to try and fight It as much as Kris does Also Kris Sporting the look of a knight does fit the military theme of the major

The Major, if tied with the theory Chapter 3's boss is a cowboy, could actually make him the third boss.
@CongregationGDReal Жыл бұрын
So basically Chapter 4 is gonna be the ballerina and chapter 5 is the instrument guy odd though possibly because the chapter 5 boss might be someone trying to reach heaven and they actually do?
@thealientree3821 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I can connect the Ballerina to Woody since Woody broke his arm in Toy Story 2. And I think there may be a sort of tie in to the canceled show too... Them feeling grief, yet want to escape this purgatory. I think breaking the secret Boss' arm would be the way to end it... A severing that denies them access to Heaven. For them to realize they cannot move to the higher existence.

Great stuff, this and your last theory vid got a subscription from me! If you dont mind some constructive criticism though, perhaps you could talk a bit slower and focus on enunciation more in future videos? At times it can be pretty difficult to follow what you're saying.
@MoonlitLillypop Жыл бұрын
So six secret bosses for seven chapters? Although I will admit it's possible Seam himself will serve as the last secret boss. I guess you could make that fit but I think the Seam thing for other reasons

You know, that might just make sense. Both that twilight episode and deltarune secret bosses might just be based on the same thing: nihilistic philosophers.
