I said that Jake Guentzel was right-handed; he is actually a left-handed shot. My bad.

But he is comfortable on the right side?
@dankdank98376 ай бұрын
Well I mean I throw right but I shoot left. I always liked playing on the right but was forced left.

I see Carolina going to the edge of the earth to keep this guy, don't be surprised if/when he resigns for the Canes.

Thank you for keeping us sane during the offseason!

I like all three players you mentioned. I think they would all benefit the Sharks immediately but my concern would be the cost. Walker and Montour would both immediately become our best two defensemen and both fit what the Sharks need but the term of the contracts would be the sticking point. I also am not sure they would be willing to come to the Sharks. The Sharks can overpay them, offer them a bigger role on the team with increased minutes, and the area is a nice place to live but not much else other than that. Also, I do not think Guentzel is within the range of salary that GMMG would be willing to pay in cost and length. I would love to see all the players you mentioned but I think it is highly unlikely we get one of them. Still, great content and fun conversations.

They've been connected with Sean Walker, so they are looking for a player of that ilk.

Man I would be so stoked if they got Montour or Guentzel. Grier needs to make a splash and show us that things are changing for the better.

I could definitely see a player like walker or Montour being signed to help out the defense but I think a Guentzel specifically is a no go. It seems like a lot of teams are going to be bidding on him and it’ll take an extreme overpay to attract him to SJ. I still think they are going to go after a couple 2nd and 3rd line solid dudes that can show the kids the rope and step up when the young guys are having an off night. One more year of top 5 pick, but they’ll be more competitive and harder to play against!

I think a defensemen makes the most sense. I cant see them getting Guentzel though, especially since they just got rid of Hurtl

No thank you to Jake Guentzel. I think he’s a great player but he will be declining by the time the sharks are expected to be entering their window

Sean Walker would excite at even half price of what Karl commanded, he's more proven than the upcoming Calen Addison... who could slide to a more reasonable position 2-RHD on the 2nd line. The rest of our D-men are super defensive by nature with Thrun/Shamook showing some promise offensively. I love the grit/determination that Burroughs/Rutta play with. Benny coming back too, we gotta see how he fits?!? I'd be shocked if Montour came to us, he's a cardio machine and the best way I could see as an "interim/bridge season" with the Sharks to be moved to a contender at the deadline, similar to the Duke! He'll be way too good for this team... so trade bait to get some 2nd or 3rd picks at the deadline, as we can't retain salary. Biggest problem paying him the bag he deserves, we can't retain at the mo... so I don't see him taking any discounts... go for Sean Walker, a very impressive guy during the playoffs in Colorado! Luca Cagnoni (LHD) which we have no shortage of, might get a few reps on the left side of a Sean Walker for up to 9 games as well to start the season, then go tear the doors off in the AHL :)

Avalanche is one of the greater matches. San Jose is a near cry to break the spirit from a game on ice but if you're up sacrificing a lot of career moves you can settle in San Jose which matches the climate of nearby Kelly park.

AFP Analytics has his projected deal at 3x4.6 mil Much more tolerable than giving out five years.

5yrs is fine where SJ is at rebuilding. Walker is fast & should be productive over that time. He kinda tailed off at season's end & playoffs, so if expectations are 2nd pair that is OK. SJ would do well to sign him, but he'll have plenty of other options...

Brenden Dillon is a FA this offseason. I think he could be a good pickup.

I don’t think it’s the time to go for the Jake Guentzels of the world yet, as much fun as it would be. Maybe next offseason we bring in the biggest free agent in the market, maybe someone who is German 👀
@LockedOnSharks6 ай бұрын
Maybe not Guentzel, but you need a legitimate top 6 guy.
