One of my favorite sandwiches when growing up WAS the Philly Cheese Steak. I've come up with loads of different ways to make it that all taste good, but one thing they are missing is the bite and chew of steak. (when you use beyond or impossible, its just ground beef texture NOT steak... so I wanted to solve that!
I've made a few Philly cheese steaks in the past, but I wanted to make this one different. One of my favorite plant based meats I've made is the Daikon Bacon!! It comes out meaty, has a nice bite, the texture is great and it holds onto a good favor, so I thought, why not... lets make a Philly cheese steak, but instead of steak we swap it out for the daikon radish! So here it is, my favorite sandwich, the VEGAN Philly Daikon and Cheese

I'm a person who eats meat from time to time, but choose to eat plant based for most of my meals out of enviormental reasons. And I agree, marmite has a suprisingly beefy flavour. And not just oh it has lots of umami in it. Soy sauce does not taste like beef, but marmite does. It doesn't taste like steak, but to me it really tastes of beef gravy, a stew, or like meatloaf or meatballs. But it is definantly a beef flavour (espically if you dilute it or mix it into other things, as it's so concentrated its hard to actually experience the taste, and not just like a punch in the face to your senses).

@@vinzetti22 You say steak or cheesesteak "wit" or "witout." Meaning with or without grilled onions (almost caramelized.) The cheese is almost always American or a "sauce" made from mostly American. You would have to specify you want Whiz at most places. Some places don't even carry mushrooms or peppers. Maybe the touristy places serve Whiz on cheesesteaks as normal practice, but I mostly see Whiz ordered as a side for dipping in french fries.

I was so inspired to do this. I made the recipe. The pieces were still too crunchy so I let them marinate overnight in the fridge. I cooked them well (baked then pan fried) the next day. They really didn’t soften. Sadly I ended up discarding them. I thought I followed the recipe. Not sure if I’ll try it again. I’m wondering if I would pressure cook the radish for a short while first. What’s your thoughts on my issue/idea?

Try Crisco. It has similar properties and is made of soybean and palm oil, and is essentially flavorless. Alternatively, red palm oil is also similar to coconut oil, though has a stronger earthy/carroty flavor that may throw off the flavor balance in the recipe. Might make it better though. Hard to say!

This looks really good. 'Stache is from the YO. Two things about the YO. It is the Italian food capital of OHIO and every baby born in Youngstown leaves the hospital with boxing gloves instead of blankets.

THANK YOU FOR THE FREE CONTENT! I think it would be interesting to start experimenting with Tofu, in a dehydrator, to see how much of the texture changes. Sticking a whole block of tofu in it , then attempt to make bacccccoooooooooon, steakss, etc . THANK YOU AGAIN.

I think it is time you invest in a food slicer. With as much as you cook you need to save time wherever you can. I also wish I could find daikons in my area.

It’s not an instant transfer. It takes time. Just quickly rinsing to remove the salt. Do it

Don't you have cheese shavers in america? That are made to cut slices of cheese from a block? That's what I use when I want thicker slices of any vegetable of choice.

For me, basic frozen vegan burger patties are unique and equally delicious when compared to a meat based burger. I am impressed that you consistently create new and fascinating vegan meat replacements that rival any meat product. Even if the flavors are not exact to meat, the fact you devise complex vegetable based foods that look delicious both texturally and visually; They satisfy those seeking vegan cuisine which makes it extraordinary and you invite opportunity for young and older folks to experiment to decide if this lifestyle could work for them. That is the hallmark of what your videos represent. Just as one KZbin blogger stated that "Indian chefs have a PhD in spices," you, like Indian chefs, have a remarkable ability to create convincing and delicious meat replacements from vegetables and that's brilliant!

Interesting. May try it. Will say that you need better audio control. There are people in your house yelling that the mic is picking up and it's probably the most distracting thing I've experienced in a video to date.

Y’all comment for the algorithm; for some reason youtube isn’t pushing his videos as much. He should be getting at a LEAST 100k views PER VIDEO with content of this quality. This channel should have 1 mill subs. The more support he has the more likelihood that he will be able to start a food brand. Let’s make his and our dreams come into fruition! I want to be able to buy his food online and in stores.

So I really like the texture of Tofurkey brand chick’n, the ingredients say it’s made of a mix of both soy and wheat protein to get the right texture(it’s especially good uncooked, it reminds me of the cold Perdue chicken strips). Do you know of some kind of home made combination of the two proteins?

I've wanted to try Tofurkey but, I'm skeptical about the taste and texture. I will definitely have to try it.
