It is an actual, fully certificated per FRA passenger service. Schedules are timed to connect to/from Amtrak at Saratoga Springs. All equipment meets full FRA standards for intercity passenger service, not the more lenient tourist rail standard.

I wonder if that Ex cnw/Metra E8 was one of the ones used with those bi levels when they were on the long island railroad? Great video! i have been waiting to see a video of the E8 in action. Who would have ever thought? a Black widow in New York! Looks like a fun railroad. A trip there is definitly in order on my part!

I think the E UNIT is there to stay. The railroad it was lettered for was sold to genessee and wyoming who wont continue the excursion service it was used on
