I'm glad you started talking about conditions at 12 minutes. I went out first thing this morning at low altitude and it was like riding on blue tac.

The time of day and conditions makes a huge difference on a run like this!

Great commentary. Relevant and explains things clearly. I've only been to Val Thorens 4 times now. It just offers so much variety and terrain no where else can offer with the 3 valleys
@Cookiesports11 күн бұрын
Hope you can make it here someday soon! Lots of people ski three valleys for a while, then come here and never return elsewhere!

Nice run! But where it's 16km? It's about 8.3km long, even with the last blue 'Le Gua' piste the whole run is about 10km, which is not bad, actually ... 😀
@Cookiesports11 күн бұрын
I’ve wondered that… maybe you have to turn a lot to crank in up-to 16km! But it’s all over the publicity for the village so must be some truth in it somewhere!? 🤷♂️

@Cookiesports This is common that resorts are lying to look more attractive to people. In one of my videos I skied the longest black run of one of french resorts 10km, which actually is only 3 km long, and people wrote in comments that I'm wrong, because resort booklet says it's 10km long. I suggest them to check that themselves using GPS track or Google Earth and not to believe marketing brochures. Many youtubers fall into this trap, for example, I've seen many videos with the longest run in the world 20km, which actually is only 13km if you check that yourself. That's it.

You need the Insta remote that gives you all the GPS data - map, distance travelled, speed, incline etc.... would be really useful on a session like this one - good job though mate!
@Cookiesports11 күн бұрын
I have the remote, and maybe you’ve seen I use it in some videos… but I don’t want this to be become a “how fast can I ski” type video… just enjoy the ride! 🤩

Do you use the microphone built into the X4 or do you use an external microphone to record your description as you ski along?
@Cookiesports3 күн бұрын
External microphone all the time, on the whole channel! The microphone is built into the camera are grateful for vlogging, but not for live action like I am using this. I use an InstaMic 🎙️

Awesome video, what is this resort like for newer skiers? Ive been twice both times to La Plagne but im looking to try out some different resorts.

just been this christmas, lots of really nice fun greens down into the main village with various lifts to take you back up the main slope to the blues and reds further up or back to the top of the greens, however in my opinion the skiing etiquete here isnt amazing with lots of locals not wearing helmets and people skiing to fast for their capabilites. Your experiance in the morning will depend where you stay, we stayed in oz and there is only one main gondala which is small, no proper seats and pretty shit, up to the main resort where all the greens down to the main village where you can then get the gondala up to the top of the resort, pic blanc!

Hi Cookie ! Thanks for all the content, the Windsurfing lessons help me a lot with the theory (still struggling to have both feet in the straps...). How do you mount the 360x4 to the wishbone ?
@Cookiesports11 күн бұрын
Get a FlyMount for windsurfing, essential mounting piece!

What skiis would you say for next week mate? We're arriving on Saturday, thinking of starting on all mountain for the first few days??
@alexanderbagshaw752116 күн бұрын
i dont know if they have just had a fresh dump of snow, but i went over christmas. If you know how to go off piste, get both piste and off piste skiis as the powder is everwhere between runs, and if you go up the mountain called signal, there is a massive off piste designated section which leads and connects to a chair lift straight back up to the top where you can do it all again!

@Cookiesports thanks buddy, appologies, I meant speed riding. how did you get into it? I've been out in the UK doing some speed flying (on a 15.5) with a skydiving buddy who is a paragliding coach and was an intermediate free rider before I injured my knee

Its NOT a BLACK run at all, all the way. Big parts of the run are red and blue. Its just a marketing gimmick. So far, it has worked well ...🫥😮💨 Today anything like this sell well.
