As mentioned elsewhere the singer is Annisette who later married one of the founders of The Savage Rose, Thomas Koppel. During this time in the early to mid 70's Thomas Koppel wrote the music and played organ and piano. The other brother, Anders Koppel, wrote the lyrics and also played keyboards. There had been a few changes to the band, i.e. Ken Gudman on drums replaced Alex Riel and Peer Frost on guitar replaced Nils Tuxen. Shortly after the release of Wild Child the band split due to disagreements of the direction of the band and Annisette and Thomas Koppel embarked on a journey of their own and continued to create music but on small and obscure record labels and singing in Danish. They continued to perform as Savage Rose and played at demonstrations and charity events supporting and fighting for social justice and peace. The Savage Rose went to the US in the late 60's and went on tour for several months where they played at venues in Chicago, LA and most notably at the Newport Jazz Festival 1969 with amongst others Sly and the Family Stone and James Brown.They were offered a lucrative contract by RCA. However, they could not agree on the details of the contract and the story goes that they would have to go to Vietnam to perform for the American forces. When they refused the contract was torn up. Personally I think there were other issues like control of the music and the direction of the band. Thomas Koppel was well-known for wanting to have full controll of the artistic direction. Thomas Koppel died in 2006 but Annisette now 76 continues to record and perform under name the Savage Rose. The latest album ' Homeless' was released in 2017 and is another masterpiece well worth a listen. Lately Annisette has collaborated with Denmark's Radio bigband and did an out of this world version of Bob Dylan's 'Masters of War'. The above is a very brief synopsis of a 55 year long musical journey.

Thank you for reacting to my suggestion. And as for this song: Nice choice - definitely one of my favorite songs by The Savage Rose. Annisettes (the lead singer) voice gives me so much chills in this one! The song was released in 1973 five years after their debut - and Annisette is still going strong singing barefoot on the stage. The drummer is Axel Riel an amazing jazz drummer who passed away this year (if you are into drumming try searching for Axel Riel drumsolo - he is something else). If you want to listen to more from The Savage Rose here's some suggestions: "A girl I knew" (1968), the medley "Byen vågner/Dear little mother" originally 1972 but take the live version with an amazing organ solo by Palle Hjort from 2013, "What do you do now" or "Black Angel" (1995), "A trial in our native town".
