Back in the eighties, there was a newspaper report about a car park attendant in a shopping centre. I can't remember the details exactly but apparently he was very friendly everyone liked him. He was at work every single day, and he would charge £2 per car and £5 per coach. One day, he didn't turn up for work, so the shopping centre management phoned the council to ask if they could send a replacement car park attendant. The council informed them that they didn't employ anybody there and there was no parking fee. The story got to the press and it was estimated that the car park attendant had made about £409 per day for the past twenty years. The reporter visited his house only to find it empty. It made us laugh as we imagined this guy sunning himself on some foreign beach after beating the system.

Living in Tenerife we soon learnt that the Spanish never pay for parking. They park anywhere: on crossings, hash lines at junctions, middle of the road, or just pull up alongside a parked car, they don’t care. They park and stick their hazard lights on as “hazards are king”. That bloke would have seen “tourist” and thought you were worth a few Euros. We always park in underground car parks, as there’s always a space and it keeps the car cool. We love tapas as you order a bit and if you’re still hungry you just order a bit more. That is one thing the Spanish have got right, snacking. 😉 We’re loving your vlogs and interested to see the next ones in Spain ❤️

I was in Seville last Friday, May 3, 2024. I spent a few hours there, a lot of narrow streets, a cathedral, horse-drawn carriages, it was 28 degrees Celsius. lovely place. I also recommend Algarve, Portimao and the surrounding area in Portugal.

We use to have the parking think in Kenya we didn’t mind they were mostly street urchins they would carry your shopping or watch your car we always gave more than anyone else and we were respected back for it nothing ever happened to our stuff. Nice video again guys.

Scrap Yards have been "got at", and not in a good way, they are Recycling Centres !!! and everything is organised, compartmentalised, and very clean, and if you are buying, very expensive. Late to the party for this weekend’s episode as celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary in Paphos, Cyprus. What a coincidence that you’ve been together 14 years. Jess's face when John showed her the Gopro with the road sweeper on it - highlight of the video! Totally agree mate, an organised scrap yard would be an industry first. Your production quality is improving with each video, how long does it take to edit a week of footage? This has become a nice Saturday routine for me; run half a shift, park the truck up, kettle on, tea, toast and True Blue on the i pad. Time to crack on now though, I've a ferry to catch. BTW, when will you be able to bring us an update on the next project?

Morning we went to gibraltar earlier this year parked in what appeared to be a free motorhome spot when we returned from walking to gibraltar we had a parking ticket there was 11 other vans there ours was the only one that had been ticketed mind you ours was the only one with UK number plates

A farmer friend of mine had it years ago at a cattle market. The teenage "kids" said they'd look after his land rover & trailer so it wouldn't be damaged if he didn't pay. He got his shot gun out & told them they would be seriously damaged if they laid a finger on anything. He said he didn't know teenagers could run so fast🤣🤣 Wouldn't get away with it nowadays though😬

Good Morning Guys. Well, Saturday is here again, and another installment from Jess and Jon. First off, Great Dancing, still laughing at your Guns Jess 👌🤣 With the Parking Scam, its not just Spain who does it. I was a Coach Driver for 25 Years here in Germany (Just down the Road from where you was born Jon, in Herford) The worst for this, I think, is in Poland. Regardless in which Tourist location we where, the Public Parking was controlled with these kind of people. The thing was, if you didnt pay, the coach would have mysteriously have a Flat Tyre, or, some kind of Graffiti or Dent somewhere. So, to your Question, yes, pay the few Euros for it, it saves you more Time in the Future. Well, I`ve wrote to much for a Saturday morning, Safe Travells, keep Well and till next Week, P.S.
