I work in a used bookstore and we take donations. It isn't uncommon for a donation to consist of an elderly parent's library which they are purging because they are moving to a smaller place. I have unpacked boxes and boxes of 1980s and 1970s "road to easy riches" books and they are all the same. People also tend to buy ALL of the books these guys used to put out. They often leave pages of handwritten notes from the seminars as well and the plan is always 1 of 4 income streams: 1. MLM 2. Buying and selling foreclosures. 3. Investment in penny stocks. 4. Offer ur own seminar and newsletters

With William McCorkle’s ad, the first person I thought of was Tommy Vu…eerie similar. McCorkle was probably inspired by Vu. And Tai Lopez may have been inspired by McCorkle. McCorkle was a stripper after high school. Like who in their right mind would take financial advice from a stripper? Many people did but they didn’t know he was a former stripper. Likewise the businessman who sells shovels and pick axe ⛏️ during a gold rush, people like McCorkle only get rich by selling misleading information to very opportunistic desperate people. They really are the worst of society…no different than the Wolf of Wall Street. But it’s just alarming to me how much a longe prison sentence McCorkle got compared to Jordan Belfort who administered a much larger scam.

Haha,In the 90s I was a disgruntled twentysomething FedEx worker seeking a better life,so I ordered a few courses...Carlton Sheets' No Money Down,Dean Graziozi's Motor Millions... And this guy. I swear, that course is sitting in my attic right now. I actually did go to a couple of auctions in the 90s, I actually almost bought an armored car ( What I would've done with it,I don't know)... But yeah,I drank the Kool-Aid. 🤷🏿♂️ Great Retrospective!

14:07 charging & sentencing is almost always under the laws of the territory in which the crime is committed, the nationality of the alleged perpetrator is irrelevant, I'm surprised the UK pulled that, given how many non-UK nationals they charge & sentence on their soil.
