I had this many years ago, not too long after it came out and absolutely loved it. Not sure if it’s been reformulated since then but my experience with it was very different than yours. I never got any leather from it that I can remember and the mint and lime notes were very prominent.

Jusbox Black Powder kind of has a cigarette smoke feel to it, but with an apple whiskey cocktail thing going on. It's really good.

I once went to my department store and tried (no joke) 200 fragrances in a short time to decide which one to to steal some sprays from before heading out to work drinks. Somehow decided on speak easy. Clerk even filled up a sample atomiser for me. I doused myself in the stuff before getting to the pub and someone reacted with who smells like ‘urinal cakes’. Giving the sample a few more tries I have to agree this isn’t that nice has an old man smell (in a bad way) This fragrance is a pass.

I completely disagree! I think speakeasy is incredibly balanced and unique. One of my favorites from the house. I think you just expected something different, and it's throwing you off
