Hi DT, I set it up the usual way, basically presence 2, bass 5, mids 4, treble 6 volume was 4 at first, then rolled to the sweet spot of 6.5

Man, every time i play a vintage guitar i feel like i am going to snap the tuners while tuning it. Do you ever feel that way Fil? I've played many vintage guitars but the only vintage lp i've played was a 53 lp standard. there is definitely something about those old lps that just make them "special"...other than the tuners. i can see why people change those out and keep the originals in the case

I'd like to hear this particular 3 way combo with a descent mike. I have a Les Paul and a bassman lineage amp. I wonder how it will go with the SVR.

i bet the reason joe uses such a weird setup is so he doesn't shred to much on the guitar , high action and heavy gauge strings prevent it, if his guitars were not set up like that he would play a hundred miles an hour all the time , kind of a speed limit if you will for em ....

What's with the Schaffer thing you flogging em ? Would have been nice to hear the guitar / amp more with some light and shade tones. I have a mint '66 JTM-45 MKIV Super Trem rare head version of the BB. Don't need no pedals with these amps.

Some of your stuff indeed captured early cream tone and licks, but a lot also sucks. I don't think clapton used 11s, and that's part of your problem. But he wasn't lucky enough to play a 1960 LP with cream either. If that was your own gear and you could iron out all the gaps that break up your playing and tie it all together (along with a drummer, a singer, song writer and bass) into songs ...

You've gone to a lot of trouble and to be honest I'm really not impressed at all by this amateurish display. You could've got close to this with a lot of options. You are clearly influenced more by Angus than Eric. That's cool. Your miking technique is half the sound. That's not great either. Having said that you have some of that magic tone. The rest is in your fingers. You need to do a lot of gigs to get good, not just bedroom work.
@SoloDallas11 жыл бұрын
A lot of trouble, Dai? Says who, you? But I wonder, dear reader, did you even take the time to read the title of the video, before spitting on this one? It says "CAMERA AUDIO", clearly right there. Go to my other videos for microphone technique, or to my now pretty well known blog. Who do we have here judging someone else's work (be it bedroom), Mr. Dai Jones? Are you a musician yourself? A guitarist? Or a bedroom armchair general. The latter would seem to be the case. Always remember to READ before you write. it's even written in your native language.

Dai in all seriousness how many if us guitarists actually become famous performers? A very small percentage a lot of us don't want to perform. I find it nerve wracking myself. Mist if us are home guitarists and it's out main hobby. I play for myself and not for anybody else. That's why I picked up the guitar at 14. I Wanted to at 7. I don't play for you or anyone else. If ur playing for someone else or to impress someone they're the wrong reasons. If ur great than I can see making a career out if it. Otherwise shut ur piehole. Fil u did a fine job.

And yes there r some typos Dai. I'm on a cell and I'm not re typing it.

+coffeewaldo Don't worry, brother. Look what has happened to me - this was what, two years ago. Look at me (us) now. I am the official sound of Angus Young TODAY. I mean... good enough I would say. I was able to go well past beyond my wildest dreams. I am good. Take care you all.
@daijones1019 жыл бұрын
+coffeewaldo oh but you are very wrong. I've been playing for longer than you've been alive and have made a living from it. I didn't mean harm. your friend has a good tone.
