Today, we’re taking on another sandwich of regional history. This time we’re headed to Philadelphia for a sandwich created at McNally’s, The Schmitter. Apparently it was created for a gentleman who sat at the bar and only drank Schmidt’s beer. Never mind that his name was Dennis Krenich. Alas, the sandwich would not be named for him but it lives on to this day. It has a particular set of ingredients and a particular way of cooking them which, after making the sandwich, I get.
