Super nice~ I loved watching the backwinded sail at the beginning. All those touristy schooners motor out....

What a beautiful schooner. Nothing like a wooden hull slicing thru the water. And the wind pushing on the sheets. Nothing better in the world . Takes ya back when the great sailing ships ruled the seas. When ships were wood and men made out of steel.

Beautiful. My father owned and captained a trading schooner in the West Indies. It had a Kelvin 3 cylinder 66 hp side drive.

Looks like Prophet has a really bluff bow and a broad beam for a pinky. Really beautiful. What are her dimensions, if you don't mind me asking? Of all the schooner types, pinkies are probably my favorite. I've watched videos of Ardelle and Tiger over and over and over again. Just beautiful lines. Any chance of a tour below decks at some point? Thanks for taking us along for the ride!

Pinky’s are known for their bluff bows and broad beam, it’s typical of the design type. I highly recommend reading “American Sailing Craft” by Howard Chappelle, it has a whole chapter on Pinky schooners

My heart and soul ache to be out sailing on the water. There is a peace there that I can’t find on dry land.

Pinky schooner, sailed on one for 5 days in the Chessie. We put up all the laundry on the last day sailing into Annapolis

Interesting how this craft looks so graceful and fanciful from outboard. But the view from the deck shows how utilitarian and pragmatic it is. You might think it was a gundalow or more prosaic vessel unless you knew better.

Resembles the FAME out of Salem, MA. A privateer from 1814. I think they were called 'pinkeys'? O.K. I was close. That vessel type is called a 'Pink' (French pinque; Italian pinco). A Mediterranean design with lantern sails, rerigged in schooner configuration.

The PROPHET is a more accurate Pinky schooner than either the FAME or ARDELLE. The PROPHET has no motor, no electrical at all, everything is traditional. Tom based the whole boat on the research of Howard Chappelle, he even fell his own trees to build the PROPHET. A Privateer is just a private vessel that leases itself out to a government to be used for war. Any vessel can be used as a Privateer. The FAME like to claim their heritage to the War of 1812, but the Pinky design is much older than that.

Tom doesn’t haul cargo, he is a wood worker. He has a little shop in Camden where he makes wooden furniture when he’s not working and sailing on the PROPHET

@@CaptOutlandish Seriously SORRY. The comment was Absolutely not meant for u. It was posted for another vid in my viewing queue. the almost 45 mim vid didn't show any profile pics. I couldn't believe that, so I reviewed the vid and saw that there were indeed some poorly framed long distance profile shots -- but nothing compared to ur closeups. I then DELETED the comment. I honestly don't know if there was some glitch that caused the comment to end up in ur thread.
