Hi Chana, what history curriculum would you recommend? I find they’re either Christian or secular. We’re studying the Middle Ages right now. Our kids are elementary school ages. We’re uncomfortable with the Christian history texts, but wish there was more Torah in the secular books. Where is the Jewish happy medium? I’d love your advice/recommendations. :)

I hear you on that! Getting a Jewish history curriculum is hard…. it’s a mish mash of events and stories and time periods, and your brain has to connect the dots, if that makes sense. For elementary ages, we like the What is/Who was series! Also, if your kids like this kind of thing, the I Survived series. (one of my kids got scared, my others really likes them) :) American Girls books, and there’s also the Jewish Girls Around the World series. Magic Tree House also teaches about historical periods for kids. It’s not Middle Ages, but I came across this book from Artscroll: www.amazon.com/gp/product/1422640655/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 I hope these help! I’d also love to hear what you recommend! We’re always on the lookout. What are you using to study the Middle Ages?

I love this: when you learn science, you’re learning about Hashem. Science is the study of Hashem. ❤ yes! Great way to frame it.
