From one Steve to another, Steve Rogers Outdoors is my favorite fishing channel. All positive, great footage, great science and a great all around way of explaining things. You rock! Keep up the great work.

Your ned rig video/underwater footage made me realize how juicy a lure dragged on bottom w a start stop retrieve can be, caught a couple fish doin it this weekend, woulda kept catching fish all over the lake in that manner if my wife hadn’t called me home 2 hours into fishing, felt amazing to put it to use!!! Thanks brother!!

Great video, long time angler but only been bass fishing for about 5 years and always wondered why people beat the heck out of a single piece of cover, now this totally makes sense!

When the fishing pressure is high and it is difficult for the fish to bite the lure, I think it is very important to retrieve the lure from the appropriate direction according to the direction of the fish in order to get a strike. I love topics like this. Thank you.

Having been fishing for decades...the group of guys came up with a term ... "ANGLE OF THE DANGLE"...pretty sure it's not original but works for us ... Tight lines, God bless us all.

I never took this into consideration when hitting structure; when I'm chasing small mouth bass and large mouth bass! Sometimes after I catch that first fish for the day I begin to burn those baits through the water then I move to a new location. Now that I watched this video I totally understand how I have been going through this all wrong. I really appreciate it.. because we all know it's not fun when we're not hooking up.

I loved this one steve... I'm sending it to my buddies who tease me for spending too much time casting different angles of docks and laydowns.... I believe in casting every " groove" on a piece of structure. .

I have spent time with some anglers that taught me so much about angles. Lessons they taught me I have never forgotten.

I think we can often forget how important casting angles are when we're burning down the bank with that trolling motor kicked up on high. I constantly have to stop and remind myself to try other angles and make different casts to the same areas.

I am confident that I have left many, many fish out there over the years because, like you said, I get in a hurry and forget about this concept all the time. So thankful I had some great anglers really take me under their wing years ago and drive this concept home.

Steve. Have you ever done an underwater video that answers the question: "How in the world did that fish not get hooked? This bait has two sets of treble hooks! How did he miss both of them?"
@Rooster05297 ай бұрын
Haha!!! I’ve asked that a boat load of times!
@Boethius4117 ай бұрын
Lol. I wish I knew that one too. They can exhale a bait faster than I can set a hook. I do know that.
@SteveRogersOutdoors7 ай бұрын
That would be an incredibly interesting video! If I ever really get on a school, and have another person with me so I can run the camera, I will have to try and get some footage of that. They swat at and miss a walking topwater so often.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors I have seen footage of them hitting a lure with their mouth closed. Especially when after smallmouth and the big spots we have in north Alabama, I absolutely will not throw a top water without some kind of sinking minnow to follow up with. I’ve seen it too many times including one of the biggest smallmouth I ever seen hit a treble hook lure multiple times without getting a hook. It’s my theory that they hit it first with their mouth shut to kill or stun it and come back for the easier picking.

i broke off two nice bass this weekend. one was 8 lb test on my spinning reel, the other 15lb on my baitcaster. im thinking the line is shot from being in the garage unused a few summers? time for some braid on my spinning reel? any suggestions welcomed.

I love braid to a leader on my spinning gear. Have been so very happy with it. I use 20lb test braid (hi-vis yellow) and then tie on at least a rod's length of leader. Most often I use fluoro. The sensitivity is outstanding. I like to use any of the performance braids out there that are real limp. Let me know if you have any questions I didn't answer.
