May not need to be said, but not only in a horizontal plane (on the whiteboard) but also vertical plane. Clear water fish may come up 10 to 15 feet to get a bait.

Absolutely, thats a good point, and one I should have clarified in the video. Thanks!

Great explanation, Miles. Appreciate your videos. If you're taking suggestions for topics, I'd like to hear you talk about casting angles and boat positioning.

Great idea, I might try to tackle this on my white board or do it on the water. Not sure yet!

That's some really great info! One of the things I think of when it comes to the size of the strike zone is how competitive those fish are with each other. A lot of times the strike zone will be bigger just because those fish are fighting over the bait. You can really get some good bites when it's like that!

Class is in!!Thank you Miles great lesson on this subject. Wouldn't a bait that you could cover water with help to maybe come in more contact with these smaller strike zone fish?

Sometimes that’s the case, like if you’re fishing structure and not cover oriented fish. If fish are in cover, they are less likely to chase anything moving by, as opposed to something dropped to them, but fish on structure are susceptible to moving baits even with small strike zones because at some point you’ll bring a bait right by their face.
