After invasions be it Islamic or Chrisitian ones, our society changed. It also became westernized. Arranged or love, both have become meaningless to a lot of people. Marriage itself lost it's meaning. But there are still some of us who still preserve the traditions even today.

Truth Said by Sadhguru Namaskaram Sadhguru, When I was getting trained for armed forces by my elder brother in special forces at the age of 12, first thing he did was to wear a Damp Underwear, I never understood what for, it was itchy and very uncomfortable, then he told me to wear Langot a cloth to be made underwear daily. No need of supporter like today time. When I found out why it was compulsory in ancient wrestling and Bharat was that those damp cloth really stable your heat and harmones and make you only focus on your Goal. Yes marriage is very powerful in Gond community we all still follow same thread mangalsutra and my wife every year changes it firstly I didn't believe it, but the power I felt of having a Powerful wife can turndown course of your destiny. I was undergoing Shanisharesati 7.5 years of Shanidev I never went to Shanidev temple but accept for small incident never ever big disaster happen, bcoz my wife every Saturday go and pour oil on Shanidev. I meant giving birth. In hatayoga men are supposed to tie a bandana at thier waist while women don't have to because men are weaker at thier lower half region. So such a similar reason might be there for mangalsutra. Please don't make everything about discrimination.

There was a time 3000 years back when men and women both used to wear jewellery and other stuff , but since first greek invasion of india way back 2300 years , most man started engaging in war and women used to stay away from war . During this time men slowly slowly stopped wearing jewellery and other stuff and hand over almost every thing to woman and this give birth to new society norm where women become domesticated . Way before 3000 years back men and women used to live almost with same status in society.
