Just love Dr Zoftness! She is one of the pivotal doctors who changed my life with chronic pain. Through an appointment & with her workbook, my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is no longer zapping the joy out of my life. She gave me tools to recognize & address feelings of hopelessness, anger plus catastrophic thinking. So thankful for the Dr's Z & Z sessions.

Nursing has known this for ages. We’ve been managing environments,’situations, visitors, breathing exercises, giving effleurage for ages.

Well said, thanks. I agree if you can find a way to focus on something else other than your physical pain, it really dials it down. I will definitely look for the book!

Body pain can be so tiring, I just get pissed off that when I wake up something else has stopped working properly, literally overnight FFS

So if I'm happy, my chronic pain will go away. Haha, I wish! Chronic pain is tiring. It wears you down. It sucks all the happiness away. If there were an endpoint, one might feel hope, but when the doctors tell you they don't know what's causing it and there's nothing more they can do...that's depressing. Actually, there is something doctors can do and that is prescribe pain killers, because pain killers work. However, the doctors don't want to do that anymore because the government has restricted them. So now they try and convince you that pain is all in your head and can be fixed by feeling happy.

If I didn't have access to the opioid that I've had for the past 12 years I wouldn't have been able to work. Don't tell me that pain killers don't work! Lol

My friend once slammed the door of his car shut and didn't see that my fingers were still in the way, usually I would scream in pain, but this day we had a lady with us that I wanted to impress. So I had no reaction, not a sound, facial expression of pain, nothing. I calmly asked him in a slow and soft voice: Bro, please open your door, my fingers are trapped there. He opened the door and I just continued like nothing happened, he looked at me confused and said: You're a fucking psycho bro, you didn't even say ouch or anything! I did feel some pain but it wasn't as bad as usual. So yes, the mind is powerful.

Pain management is a mental tango of continually trying to dance around all the triggers with as minimal downtime as possible. It’s a nonstop struggle.

once I learned breathing techniques I learned I could lower just about any physical pain I imagine you could do it in other ways too

So pain volume and controlling emotions helps ms patients who nerves are stripped. Not about the pandemic, about having ms and you cant walk.

Maybe that’s why my peripheral neuropathy is worse, sometimes nearly unbearable, at night when I go to bed. Not only does it draw my attention to it, it also depresses me because I know there’s no cure for it. I suffer a lot.

according to this bs person you are to blame, “just don’t feel the pain” literally what she’s saying, so what’s YOUR problem!? this idiot is disgusting and delusional and harmful to patients, please avoid these types at all costs!!!

The last sixth of my life has been profoundly affected by peripheral neuropathy. I see it as a test of the ability to find what is positive amid the pain.

She makes so much sense, and can really explain things so that they are easily understandable. Her workbook is very helpful! She has experienced chronic pain so she gets it!❤
