Thanks for this, Hank, Stephan, Sam, and Ceri. What's fear? Coming home after signing the pieces of paper that says yeah, I can't stop the love of my life from divorcing me, after 4 decades, because we had a rough 2020 (like everyfreakingbody else did), so there's his signed magic piece of paper that will make his life perfect and magical and full of joy again. 🥺 Really crappy effing day, and staring at the next 2 or 3 decades alone... that's fear. Because I mated for life. He said he did, too, but... then he changed his mind after a few rough months.

Mythbusters did an episode on infrasound, and found if I recall correctly, that the 'brown note' is not a thing. Which is really too bad. This was so much fun! And if Sam has truly never farted, I await with anticipation, and yes, fear!, the scientific results of his immanent explosion.

What about suspense notes? When you hold a single high note in the scream range and gradually increase the intensity before dropping the (stinger?) Note.

I feel like its less that we agreed on the rough screaming sound as a warning signal and more that we agreed to not make the simplest and most audible sound we can if we are not trying to signal intense distress and its relative uniqueness is more due to natural selection if not just coincidence.

Uff! Y'all really played infrasonic frequency while talking about it. My boring "superpower" is being able to hear down to 15 Hertz. Honestly, it's annoying as heck. Do you have any idea just how many movies and especially games use infrasonic tones to evoke emotions? Except they BLAST it in order for players to FEEL it with cheap headphones, which means I'm ready to go deaf with super low purring that no one else hears. One game my husband loves to play together uses this a lot to represent spaceship engines, you feel the rumbling along with a higher frequency warble. I have to yell at him because to me, it's blaring loud, but he hears nothing.
