I slept fine last night but the night before I had closed that night and would open the next morning, so I had the chance to sleep about 5 or 6 hours total, but ended up sleeping 0 because I was so stressed out by it that every time I closed my eyes I would be back at the register ringing up groceries................. needless to say i was not on my A game opening that day... good thing it was only a 4 hour shift (but also why was it only a 4 hour shift waaa)

When I was a child my dad found me sleep walking in our play room, I had turned on the gamecube and got to the starting menu of Sonic Adventure Battle 2 and had peed myself. Sleep walking is very strange, tho my motives were clear. I guess I was born a gamer lmfao XD

I have had some conversations with my ex when he was sleeping. He needed not to have any specific circumstanses to sleep talk. Sometimes answers made no sense. Sometimes they were totally logical. My theory is that if the things the person awake is saying, are somewhat logical in the context of the dream, sleeping person may answer totally logically. He: "So, if we would go to eat to *restaurant name here*, when should we be there?" Me: "We should be there at about 11am." He: "Oh, that's too early. Let's not go there to eat this time." 10 minutes goes by and he woke up. He: "So, if we would go to eat to *restaurant name here*, when should we be there?" Me: "We should be there at about 11am." He: "Oh, that's way too early. Let's go somewhere else to eat this time." Me: "Do you feel like we have had this conversation earlier?" He: "No. How come?" Me: "Because we had this conversation 10 minutes ago, when you were asleep." :'D I have had some sleep walking + talking episodes, but I need to have had intense stress + some alcohol in the blood to it to happen. First time, I sleepwalked to the living room with hunchback and looking down. Me: "I'm scared." He: "What are you scared about?" Me: "There are too any of them. We don't have enough time!" He: "Sorry, now I don't understand." I thought a bit and then got an idea and lead him to the bed room. Me: "See there are too many of the heavy ones!" He: "There is nothing there." I started to wake up. Me: "Yes there is!..*starting to wake up*....or atleast I thought there were." I had some stress about research protocols and moving flats...so in my sleep, I combined those. In the dream, we had time for one month. Depending on the heaviness of the box, 1-3 boxes could be moved a day. And I had just realized in the dream that we are not gonna make it! :'DDD Poor guy, thought that I was starting to have some psychotic break or something. Other time, I was peeing in the forest to the bushes. He: "No, wait! You cannot pee there." I was confused. Why not! Some random bushes in the forest. No. It was corner of the bed room in his mothers house. :'DDD So unbelieveably embarrassing. Both times I had woken up during sleepwalking/talking, which probably explains why I could remember what was happening in my dream.

i sometimes sound like a vibrating telephone in my sleep. it seems like im about to talk but then my brain hangs up and i monotonely repeat one sound over and over, not like moaning but in a more talking way if that makes sense. woken myself up with this a few times as well as having people wake me up when sharing rooms with others. i do really sound like a vibrating phone, and i have no idea how often i do it as i live alone.

I'm a law student, so on the law and the brain, there are two key defences that link to the brain, Insanity and Automatism. Insanity is when there is an internal influence on the brain, such as with a psychiatric disease, which has an impact on the defendant committing the crime. They are not of sound mind, so cannot be found guilty (however, when using this defence they may be put into psychiatric care). Automatism is as you said, a defence where a reflex or other function not involving the brain causes the defendant to commit the crime. This action, however, must be caused by an external factor, such as a sneeze being caused by dust. The law develops what can be classed under insanity or automatism with cases on the topics, so there is precedent that you can use the defence of either insanity or automatism for sleepwalking. When relying on automatism it is sleepwalking caused by an external factor, such as taking drugs, rather than internal, like sort of waking up incorrectly. This is basically the law's view on the brain when committing crimes. It's really confusing, especially with sleepwalking. Hope it kind of helps.

When my brother and I were about 4 and 8 respectively, he jolted upright (in his sleep) and exlaimed "The green one is MINE!" (still asleep). We're now in our 20s but I've never stopped quoting it.

just make that sleeping murderer have a little cell for himself that he has a curfew for each night, make him wear an ankle monitor. that way, you're locking up the sleeping guilty man, not the innocent awake man. if he breaks curfew or sleeps outside of that room, then he faces further consequences

as a kid i used to sleep-walk, but only when staying at my grandparents house. i can remember a few times i would dream of a video-game type thing and i would be navigating a map of the room, and then i would wake and i would be standing at the door. a few other times i walked down the stairs before waking up. i have talked to my uncle about this, who used to sleep in the same room growing up, and he would have the same experience (one time he even walked out onto the street). perhaps it's a genetic thing, but it seems like such a coincidence that the only time it's happened to either of us was in that same room.

besides my frequent sleep walking as a kid, i used to take out my braces bands all the time!! i was meant to wear them 24/7 but i literally couldn't help but take them out at night also: i had a friend who wasn't allowed to have sleepovers because she would just straight up unlock the door, leave, and start walking down the road ??

I experience sexsomnia. I have no recollection at all of these events and, at times, I wake up in the middle of them, startled and confused. However, as I recently found out, my unconscious self doesn't care about consent and now I'm scared of what I can end up doing. Autopilot is a nasty thing.

surely that sleep murdered was charged with manslaughter though
@haukenot33453 жыл бұрын
In German law, we have the term "incapable of guilt" for individuals who have committed crimes while mentally incapacitated. I'm not sure if this is the same thing as the insanity defense known in the US and UK, but in our legal system I'm pretty sure that a person could not be held accountable for killing someone while sleep-walking. Under German law, you might be charged with manslaughter if you cause someone's death by negligence or lack of caution, but only if you actively did (or didn't do) something that caused you to be a danger to others. Maybe you could be charged for manslaughter after stabbing someone, if you were known to pick up knifes while sleep-walking and chose not to get a lock for your kitchen drawer, but otherwise, I doubt it. (Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer, nor in any way involved with law, so take this with a grain of salt.)
