I don't think many people understand the meaning of a soulmate. A soulmate is someone whom you meet that you share a spiritual connection with. It is also believed that a soulmate is a person you have been aquatinted with in in past life, hence the familiarity. But what many fail to recognize is that a soulmate doesn't always have to be a lover. It can be a friend , a family member or a mentor. Soulmate does not always refer to a romantic relationship. But when it does , people fail to recognize that even these relationships are not meant to last forever. Soulmates enter our lives at times for specific reasons and then we must let them go. People have this idea that soulmates are this one person that we are destined to be with until our dying day , the truth of the matter is that we have many soulmates not just one and when the universe is ready we meet them. However, we must be ready to embrace them and then unfortunately let them go.

It's when we're ready to meet them (and when they're ready to meet us), not when the universe is ready. And when you meet your twin flame, you don't have to let them go. Not always. I actually believe that if someone feels that they've found their soulmate this actually motivates them to fight for the relationship and give their all to make it work despite the difficulties. I know many people who believe in soulmates and none of them has the attitude described by Vanessa. If two people are soulmates that means they will always search for each other and fight for their love no matter what even if it seems impossible sometimes. The people who don't believe in soulmates and are like "Oh, there are thousands of people compatible with me" tend to give up way easier because why make the effort to fight for someone is there are many people who suit you just as well so you can just jump onto another?

I think when we are in a soulmate/meant-to-be relationship, we eventually, effortlessly, come back to each other even after really bad conflicts and turning away from the other (but never really able to go away). There's a gut feeling about them that they are the one, no matter the doubts. There is courage shown, and effort put into growth and learning, despite ourselves, if the relationship has to work. Both recognize this, and work towards it, since both want peace and for love to keep flowering ultimately. Conflicts do NOT mean both aren't meant to be. They could be our "shadow sides", our fears playing out. It could be because of having different styles/habits. They can all be worked out!

I understand what she is saying, but don't think it is all true. I believe my partner is my soulmate. We met and instantly clicked, and we both felt like we'd already known each other forever. Every day I become more and more convinced that she is my soul mate and that things happened in our lives to lead us to each other. On the other hand, this doesn't automatically mean that it is easy, and we still work hard to keep our relationship strong. I I think when you have that connection with someone you love, you work even harder in the relationship so you can grow together. In my opinion that is why you meet the people you meet. We all end up helping each other grow in some way. That soulmate mindset comes in when people assume that it will be easy and effortless like a fairytale.

Fkg true, it is both about, say, compatibility in mindset and personality (whatever that means for each couple, definitely different criteria for everyone), the feeling that person inspires in you _and_ the *will* to keep that person near you for the rest of your lives, and life sure is tough most of the time (although this surely varies), no one said anything about fairytales, so hello to hardships and compromises. Now the only part so-called destiny could intervene is that where you either ever meet or not such a person you'd think was forged for yourself and you for them, and that's a matter of belief only. Personally I wouldn't know what to say of the fate element, maybe it does exist, maybe not. I'd keep it in for a bit of (thrilling) supernatural effect and a bit of spice in our monotonous human lives even if there's no guarantee it is true😊.

It's hard to put into words:what a soulmate is. But all I can say is that when you know, you know. It doesn't have to be romantic, but there is an immediate feeling of 'feeling understood' on a deep, deep, level. Often this understanding is unspoken.

I agree. A soulmate is unconditional love and understanding. Soulmates communicate without talking, by exchanging looks, gestures, and touches. They "get" each other on all levels. They feel the other's pain, and joy. They support and encourage each other. It is simply another level they experience.

We consider soulmates as an unique thing, but in my opinion you can meet many soulmates in your life. Soulmates come from the same soul family and they are souls which you've spent many many past lives with. A soulmate can be your friend, your father or even your son. Soulmates relationships aren't sunshine and rainbows. Your significant other might trigger you more often than you'd like but they're always doing it so you can grow. It differs from the usual relationships where the ego gets in the way, and you yell at each other in attempt not to get hurt but also to feel like you're superior. A soulmate will hurt you, but you will embrace it, because deep down you know you have to get hurt in order to grow and improve. These relationships (not only romantic ones) are wonderful because soulmates are those who will help you grow the most. Sometimes a soulmate might tag along only for a few days or months, but you will always get back a lot stronger. You probably wont meet all your soulmates in this life, and not every soulmate is meant to stay with you forever. Your significant other aka the soulmate you're meant to share most of your life with, will only come when the time is right. You have to love yourself before you can meet this soulmate, else you will only attract karmic relationships until you learn the lesson. If you read stories about people who met "their" soulmate a common factor is that most of them met him/her at the least expected moment and they didn't want to be in a relationship to start with. Most of them were content with theirselves, because when you truly love yourself 100% you don't need someone else to be happy. And that's exactly when soulmates get in your life. If you work on yourself and you realize you don't need another person to be whole, sooner or later you will meet your soulmate. It's when you stop looking for your soulmate than they just drop in your life, just like that. Just like anything else in life. Have you ever tried to remember something you're sure you know but you can't remember it and only when you stop trying, the answer gets to you naturally. Scientists try to rationalize everything. Firstly most feelings that you get from your heart wont be descriptible with all the words that exist. Secondly a soulmate connection is something that is on another level, on a soul level. You just cannot explain it. Those who don't believe in soulmates and have to think thoroughly about their relationships didn't meet their soulmate. Because when you meet your soulmate, you just know and you can't explain it. What's truly unique is your twin flame. But that's another story.

does a soulmate exist yes but the truth is even in a relationship with a person you think is your soulmate, you dont stop with the relationship because the passion changes, it just, means your relationship may be growing, things cool down which can be good for the relationship and may make your bond with that, person stronger in the long run, it doesnt mean the flame has died just means the relationship grew and your getting to know eachother in different ways

I agree completely because I've experienced a lot of the deal breakers. Everything was "magical" and "perfect" in the beginning and when something went wrong, we then both thought oh hey you know what "maybe this wasn't meant to be" Now I know that's not how I communicate to myself and others in any relationship. Thank you!

I love this! I've been with my honey for 6 years. I immediately thought the second I met him, "he's the one." No doubt about it. He's my soul mate, but that doesn't mean we don't grow together too. We have changed a lot. It's fun for me to grow together even when it's not roses & sunshine. When we get past a rough patch I feel stronger than ever about our relationship. 😊

Omg thats how i felt when i first met my baby!! As soon as we met i knew he was somebody special and was going to be a huge part of my life and i was right!! We have been together goin on 14 yrs and we have been thru alot and have always walked away stronger than ever , we are alot alike but different if that makes sense lol we fell in love and could not stand to be away from each other for more than an hour...we have grown together in these 14 yrs and we have gone thru changes in life together and although our bond did bend it never broke! I believe we are meant for each other and that we are placed in each others lives at the right time but i also believe even though we are meant to be and he is made for me our relationship takes work from both of us ! I feel like god put him in my life when he did for a reason , God makes no mistakes!! I believe everything happens for a reason but we all having free will can and do change our destiny ! Idk abt all the classifications of it all soulmates, twin flames etc i just know what i believe and the overwhelming feelings that to me verify im on the right path in life and mý spirit guide is always there to lead me the right direction whether i listen or not is up to me!

Excellent presentation, absolutely loved the discussion. There is a huge difference between destiny mindset and growth mindset, and surprisingly huge disaster that comes with destiny mindset. My mom had this destiny mindset of being partner to a guy in her teenage years, but actually that person was not a good man he was only a smooth talker and not a doer. Then later on my mom got arranged marriage with my father, and my father is caring, protective and providing man to my mother, but my mom has emotional affair with that man for so many years, it seems like my mom had destiny mindset to be partner of that jerk and not a growth mindset that even though having a great husband she refuses to see any good qualities in my dad! And the entertainment industry feeds their public the destiny mindset, and even every Disney movie like Snow white, Cinderella, etc etc storyline/plot is based on destiny mindset! Thanks for sharing and uploading this wonderful and beautiful concept, this makes so much sense now. ❤️🌸

Interesting interview, and I really enjoy Vanessa's videos, I've watched several and taken notes. The categories on soul mate belief are perhaps too stark, though, I would suggest - many people believe BOTH in a soul mate and in multiple soul mates, as well as growth and development with each. In other words, the GROWTH and DESTINY groups are in no way mutually exclusive.

I love all of your videos. I'm a pro intuitive. I believe in soulmates, but your definition of them on this video is very very narrow. The way the energy community tends to look at soulmates isn't even confined to the 'there is one' soulmate idea. Most of us who actually work in the realm of soulmate stuff, work more like the 'growth' camp. Most of us see soulmates as people who come to teach us what we need to know to help us grow for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Just wanted to point out that now all 'soulmate' believers are lumped into the same category. Again, I love your channel. I watch your stuff all the time. You have great presence and energy!

I don’t believe in one soulmate but soulmates exist. I think our actions ultimately determine the outcome of fate but some ppl are definitely meant to meet one another. I do believe in a soulmate relationship and when you inquired how many of the American people believe in that, you may have have heard me yelled eighty percent and lo how close I'm. But ya know most of us are fickle to relationship and jump to a conclusion without variefying and judging ourselves what actually we need in our lives to be smooth even in rough weathers and these people are really unstable in themselves, they are liable to regret with their present relation and tries to get out desperately but most of the times they have to regret again for the same mistake. All the same I'm a strong believer and enjoyed enormously the video. Thank you.

I had a lady who resisted compromise. I wanted the compromise because I loved her. She left. This explains a lot I think. This says that I am a growth believer. I think life is too short to be picky. Just go for it! I also think that having fundamental values limit my choices of life. In fact, my early fundamental values DID limit my choices of life.

As they say people come in our life for a reason and for a season. Growth is the flow of life. There is nothing wrong in having value system( if it is right).True principles in life give us stability and character make us real human beings. We should walk towards our destiny- if others do not want to walk together with us, they have freedom of choice but for ourself- choose yourself first and be your own True Friend.

4:34~4:48 very true very important. It's not that you found a soulmate and then everything's perfect. Instead, it is you found a person who shows he or she happens to have the same fundamental values like you(through their actions not words), and then you both decide you'll stay together, and then other little things you both are very willing to put into work to work it out. But that should be easy, not that difficult or cost you all your energy. And if it's unfortunately this way, it's because your fundamental values don't match, that you need to work so hard and still can't seem to work. And you need to simply give up and find someone else, that's not your "soulmate".

If you're not a spiritual person you don't really get the concept. A soulmate is a lesson in the universe. A soulmate can be a pet, a sibling and best friend. A twin flame is the other half of your soul which is hard because you're faced with the all your behaviors. Good and bad. If you want love and support in a partner. You need to ask the universe for a life partner.. this is psychology based on people who really don't get what's actually going on this world..

I believe in love. And people's messing up their feelings of like and love. One have only one soulmate and only one time love which will never break whether you meet or not or die. It is a spiritual Bond between only two people throughout life and death and all times. Sometimes you might break up and think i loved someone and broke up then i love again. You never love twice. But you may crush on or like. And you misunderstand that like as love. You may or may not find your soulmate in life and you may not even know if he/she is your soulmate even being with them but the spiritual bond and love remains alive with you all the time😊

I believe my husband is my soulmate. Just gravitated toward each other since we were 14. We also grow together and only been in love with each other for 14 years now. It just goes both ways. We make mistakes and have to work through a lot, but the connection is powerful. Not passion, but compassion. Yes, we did choose each other, but it also feels deeper than the description you gave “Destiny People.” So you can’t be realistic, believe in growth, and compromise with your soulmate?
