My leopard gecko is rather affectionate, I got her about eight months ago and I always am very calm around her. I notice that when she wants to be held and she knows I am in the room she will come out of her hide and kinda walk around her tank and she will look at me and when I place my hand in her tank she will crawl up on my hand and lay down and sleep. She has done that since I first got her. She normally won't run around unless she is kinda spooked by something which I try to avoid. I also will occasionally walk around my house with her in my hand, normally when I would be changing the paper towels in her tank. She is really calm with me and I am really glad that I got her. I have noticed that she reacts to me when I say her name or make the clicking type noise since I have done both since I first got her. I really enjoy your videos! There are a lot of things that I have learned by watching your videos and I just want to thank you for making them.

Thanks for the video. I was starting to wonder why screaming "love me, you damn bastard" wasn't working. Just kidding, I got my first gecko about 2 weeks ago and I just put my hand into the tank for 15 minutes every night, drop him a couple of dubias and let him be.

That first part with the frogs- I can relate to. there used to be a hummingbird feeder in my yard and tons of Hummers would come by. So I made it a goal to be able to hold one of them. Eventually they trusted me as I approached them closer every day. Soon they used my hands as landing surfaces. :)

Please help I've had my male leopard gecko for 15 years, and 5 years ago I bought him a female mate but for some reason after I introduce their young to them, they are fine for months but eventually eat them (eat their own babies) and I keep them feed 24/7 crickets stay in the tank with them in a 100 gallon tank and the crickets never bother the lizards at all, the lizards are all fine with each other but for some reason one or both the adults kills/eats the babies. Can someone help me know why this is or if I should just never put the babies with the adults? After they ate batch one I changed the climate so they won't lay eggs till I solve this. Please help with this as I would like more of these great pets.

Please never house babies with adults! And since you have them in such a huge tank, I hope there's lots of hides. I wouldn't leave crickets in there too long either, they will eventually bite the geckos. Please do your research

Give it a week or two to settle in. Don't let biting deter you, your gecko will eventually realize you aren't a threat. Don't force it out, let it climb onto you

Geckos are the chillest lizards ever. I found one of these guys roaming the backyard and picked him up with no trouble at all and it was like he was totally comfortable. Unfortunately I decided to let him resume his life in the wild despite wanting to keep him as a pet. It was tough letting him go, he was really cool looking with his fat spotted tail and his little suction cups on his hands.

I just got mine when slightly younger and made myself a constant presence. I hand-fed him on regular occasion and gave good memorable encounters with him. I got my leo a few days ago. I was trying to put my leo back in his tank, he was good for the most part when I was holding him, and when I was putting him back I was holding him and hovering over the bench that the tank is on he made this awkward noise and he snapped back and bit me and this guy is super strong and made me bleed a good bit. I feel so bad because I feel like he doesn't like me 😔

It's better to not handle you leopard gecko for the first few days just to let him adapt to the new environment.

my old gecko Penelope used to get very upset if i was putting her back in her tank, she would wiggle and scream, try to jump to the floor. she would even cry because she didnt want to go back inside. you just have to be patient and gentle with them until they get used to you. i have 2 babies now and its taking a while for them to warm up to me. if you can tell they're getting irritated or upset than dont bother them, let them go back into their hide and try again the next day, eventually it should become comfortable with you

My two baby leopard geckos are so vicious! I don't know what to do because I'm scared to touch them. And I'm scared they will drop their tails. I have held them before (when I'm changing the Eco Earth) But they just squeak and scream at me. I'm not sure what to do. When they bite and they don't let go. Help please?

This is totally normal for babies. Just put your hand in every day and they'll eventually realize you won't hurt them and become curious. Let them bite you; it doesn't hurt anyway. patience and confidence are key

so my baby leopard gecko is very hyper but not rude, i'm afraid that he will never settle down is this just because of the age or should i try other things. Amanda Animations babies are normally more hyper than adults. as they get older they should be more tamed and not be as hyper

I've been slowly taming a few roaches I keep for pets (haha I know...I'm a dork!). I'm now to a point where I can pet them while they're still in their home without them running away :D. Been slowly working at this for over a week now. I hope to eventually get them so use to me that they'll let me hold them and pet them without trying to dart away from me constantly. May take awhile...but I think I can do it! :D

Advice please, I have had my gecko for 3 months and she's 9 months old. She is still very flighty. I handle her every day for 10 to 20 minutes but she always runs away in her hide. Any advice or tips would be great. Thanks guys

Mine was very young when I got it too and he would scream and hide. I found that placing food into your palm and letting them take it builds trust a LOT. In fact as I type this my leopard gecko walked into my sleave and is playing around

Proving responsibility is much different than you moms concern about crickets, I had a similar issue with my parents, who weren't exited about having flighty and loud bugs. But asking around: younger crickets don't chirp. I buy 4-5 week old crickets and I only heard one chirp once, I found it and fed it off. But you will need to understand a betta and neon tetras are much different than a gecko, do as much research as you can.

Rose the gecko She is probably doing this by accident as leopard geckos are quite blind hunters so try feeding your gecko with tongs or facing your nails towards the gecko when feeding her, as if they bite your nails it’s a hard surface and nothing to grab on to .

My baby girl is 16 years old! She's my first and she's had two previous owners. She was a class pet before so she was always very anxious but once I got her and she was in a quieter environment, she started to relax. She still gets nervous sometimes around new people and if she's scared she'll run over to me but she is much happier now. One thing i've noticed with her is that if you are nervous then so is she. As long as you are calm and relaxed around her she does fine :)

That's normal for babies, he'll stop hissing when he gets older. Don't force him out or take out hides, let him climb onto your hand. He'll eventually realize he's safe and become curious. Putting something in there that smells like you (like a sock) may help.

I recently took in a severely neglected gecko, and wanted to know if it is still possible to get her to socialize with people. She came from PetSmart originally, and her previous owner hadn't cleaned her cage or fed in the past year of ownership because he's trying to move out. His younger sister was doing the best she could to take care of the gecko, but she's still extremely underweight, and does not trust people. The original older isn't sure how old she is, but they've had her seven years, and they have never handled her. If she can't be socialized, that's okay, I won't try and force her to do anything that's going to stress her out, but is there any chance she can get used to people at her age? mine used to scream and cry every single time when i would put her back in her tank. if she knew i was leaving to go somewhere and i had to put her back, she would cry and try to hide so i couldn't put her away lol

I got my gecko two days ago and it hasn't eaten yet it is a year and a half old, the previous owner said that it didn't like the crickets so I'm giving it super worms right now, and as I said it's not eating any suggestions

I'd give him variety; superworms aren't the best staple diet. He's probably still adjusting

If they're babies they eat daily. Adults should be fed at least every three or four days

my gecko is still young and energetic so every time i try to handle him, he runs up and down my arms and always want to be on my shoulder or back. if im wearing a sweatshirt he will lay in my hood with his head peaking out and i can walk around with him in it and its adorable!!

My 6 month old leo Lenny is surprisingly laid back for his age. Whenever I take him out for his daily handling he loves calmly crawling around my hands and arms. A lot of times he also lays down flat on me and spreads out his little legs when my hands are warm. Usually I just let him explore where ever he wants on me so he becomes more comfortable and familiar. I've only had him for a little less than a week but he seems to be warming up pretty fast :))

I am glad I watched this! I used to either corner the animal and pick them up or move their hide to expose them then lift them. Now I know I was actually scaring them and that is why they were not bonding with me and one being skittish and the other slightly aggressive. Now that I know what I was actually doing, I can stop and work to tame them. Thank you so very much!

gizmo is a freaking beautiful gecko, i just picked up two yesterday that looks like him ALOT specially the female "mathilde" its easily one of my favorite animals because they are so chill, and i fucking LOOOOOVE their chill ass smiles and even their eyes smile they just expell or have this aura of complete calm, and even watching them waddle around their home is so soothing to me, i was afraid they were gonna be scared shitless the first 2 weeks, but gunnar the male is basking and digging out in the open, and i have had handled mathilde twice already, gunnar seems a little reserved but when he finally gets im the food machine and the house keeper im sure he will lighten up a bit. havent even had them for 3 days yet and i already adore and love them both so much EDIT: it was you that made me do the "clicking" sound whenever im coming towards the "cage", mathilde already knows its me and has bolted out from cover a few times, so so sweet
