This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "meditation techniques for positive thinking" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Piyameron Singular Preeminence - (do a google search ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for ending your limiting beliefs without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my co-worker got amazing results with it.

These videos are brilliant. They distill the information into very small segments, and use illustrations brilliantly to help us understand. And the budget seems to be pretty low as well. It's pretty amazing how even their early videos were of good quality. Makes me want to try out something like this as well.

We can't really jump to that conclusion. The emphasis is that mental practice is an effective way to prepare for learning physical skills, but certainly not sufficient by itself. It's more about strengthening the neuron connections/growth, as opposed to the muscle strength/growth. But neural-connections are really only part of the equation when it comes physical action. So by imagining, you are only engaging one aspect, which likely has it's limits.

I still have the exact same muscular strength and capacity. And also due to my firm belief that i cant get ill , i havent caught any illness not even common cold since june 2016 and this may be due to the placebo effect that my thoughts keeps my immunity strong. So thoughts really are the most important key in the functionality of this human body.

LOL! I think you can apply this to the actual exercise by visualizing like golfer do before swinging. I have found it very useful in the last 8 months of my life and the benefits are starting to reveal themselves. It is hard work to get better at something but I managed to do it by visualizing and reading a lot from people who have done this and succeeded. These books jump.blinkist.com/SHgn helped me a lot to progress. I found a lot of best-selling books here that are transformed into power packs you can read or listen to in 15 minutes. Good luck to all of you and have a happy journey in front of you!

I heard something cool regarding this about how the brain compartmentalizes thoughts and associates them with closed areas, like rooms. It's easier to remember something you were taught or thought while in the same room as it is if you're in another room/setting, which may also help explain why you may forget what you were doing until you go back to the room where that thought originated from. This is all from memory, but I hope this helps. :)

Am i the only one who knew thoughts could be so powerful? It's not just physical stuff that thoughts can affect. If i was really excited or nervous and couldn't stop thinking about the time i would wake up then i would wake up at that very time with a deviation of around 10 minutes. Anyone else had that experience?

If they're imagining practicing the piano, what specifically are they imagining? Are they imagining themselves pressing each key with the appropriate loud or softness and fingering and all the right notes for a particular piece, or are they just picturing themselves in the third person on the piano, or is it neither of those?
@KingTotz
@KingTotz 9 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing you imagine doing it in first person with intense focus, basically the first thing you described, so that when the time comes to actually play, it's easier to play because your perceived reality is already in first person. In order to do this, you have to know at least the basic knowledge of how to play the piano, which is I'm sure they did before they conducted the experiment. If you imagine yourself playing in third person, it makes you better at playing in third person, which makes no sense in your perceived reality.

I HAVE A QUESTION: What is consciousness? Sure, it may sound like quite the easy question, but why do we have actual emotions, why and how can we imagine an entire movie inside our thoughts and why aren't we all just emotionless robots with no thoughts?

@RakeshPGopal
@RakeshPGopal 10 жыл бұрын
Bedo Pear To understand consciousness, lets question what's not conscious, unconscious or sub-conscious. Sub-conscious 'awareness' is when the roughly inner parts of your brain, involved in quick decision-making are aware of an event. But, the outer parts, involved in complex decision making, are not yet aware of the event. The inner parts of the brains are the instincts. They don't really reason out things. The reactions from this part of the brain are also such - Predator - run, Sexual mate - Prepare for mating, Tasty food - start salivating and grab the food, etc. The outer parts of the brain can perform complex decision-making and strategic planning. It can hold memories, refer-back to the old memories. These parts of the brain are constantly analyzing what's going on around and making strategies to deal with them. It's the 'conscious' part of our brain and it's when this part of our brain knows about a event that we consciously become aware of it. If these part of your brain stop working, you will lose all consciousness. There are parts of our brain, that can feed-back into the auditory and visual receptors, so the actual part of the brain dealing with auditory and visual signal actually sees what simulation is being played and makes sense out of it. It would help humans to 'think before they speak', in complex social setups. And simulate a strategy on how to hunt an animal or impress a mate. Emotions are our brains way of telling the body and other parts of the brain, 'you did a terrible thing, never repeat it again' or 'you did a great thing, you must do this more often'. Emotions also help humans survive in a social setup and chemically signals the body to protect you off-springs, sexual mate and other people/things important for your genes to propagate and survive. If we were though-less robots, it wouldn't have been possible for us to survive in this world. To protect ourselves from predators and find more food and propagate our genes, we needed to think and solve complex problems and take complex decisions.

but the problem with imagination is I can make myself the King of the World but outside I am a Mr. Nobody. The Action still is the king because society only recognizes that, however you can still push your brain into awesomeness by imagination that can be considered a comfort.
@lllllllllll11111lllllllll
@lllllllllll11111lllllllll 2 жыл бұрын
Your thought pattern is an illustration of a already auto-set victim mentality. You have to effectively take action in the physical reality and do some “awesomeness” little by little to actually implement the mental practice you’ve already done. Just as you can imagine yourself with an amazing body you must now break it down into segments that can be practiced in the meant so state of imagination and in reality in order to get to the bigger goal of having a better body. From the top replace the negative thought process middle replace them with good ones motivational ones then take action through the imagination of small steps needed to achieve the higher goal
@lllllllllll11111lllllllll
@lllllllllll11111lllllllll 2 жыл бұрын
I mean how tf could you “wish” to be somebody when you belittle yourself. As if in your subjective lucid imaginative mind your thought patterns show this “king of the world” thinking of himself as a nobody? So why would you implement them into this physical reality? If I’m your imaginative mind you’re imagining a charming confident outgoing person with no thoughts or feelings towards themselves that are negative how I’m the world could they exist as the “king of the world” in your imaginary world? What a depressed “king of the world” how does that work? When we think of what reality is and what a depressed “king of the world” would be, we see a sad lonely below Average (to society’s standards of course) Vessel of a being

How do we develop and sustain muscle memory? For example: remembering how to play a guitar... or retain skills in sports, athletics, balance, etc.

1:00-1:34 I can see applying to how some martial arts like Tai-chi or ones with a more demonstrative aspect like wushu work out in execution despite the slow practice and conceptualizing

Yes, this is real.. I once became injured so I can't practice martial arts.. Instead, I always imagine myself practicing the moves daily for many hours until I will dream of myself doing the moves. When I recovered and actually did the moves, it became very sharp and accurate as heck.

Mental practice is so important. A key thing is to practice, revise, or think about something that is important before sleep time, thus we advice students to study something so important before sleep. This makes our brain make the patterns (or connections) inside our it stronger! or maybe that is LTP?

I like painting in my mind. I often sit and go thru the whole process of a new piece, or the process of other peoples work, or how i would tackle something new, or hell, minecraft creations. The mind is a great dahm tool

i'm left handed and i learned to write with my right hand. when i imagine writing my signature with my right hand i find it hard to imagine... but when i imagine writing it with my left hand, even though I imagine it coming out shaky, as i don't know to write with my left hand, i do it much more quickly
