Shotguns in games have always been wierd, hard to say how it should be.. Think the real model has an effective range of 75 meters with pellets which makes it pretty accurate to how it is ingame, but compared to how BF normally treats shotguns (with buckshot) id say its pretty strong now ;D

Different mags you carry all have separate ammo inventory. If you run out of ammo switch magazines.

Shotguns feel like crap on Console (PS4), when I use the MCS 680 it takes 3-4 shots to kill within 10 meters. I feel the MCS is broken to where it doesn't do as much damage in close range (0-10m) than at longer ranges (30-40m). For example it took 3-4 shots within 10m and then 2-3 farther out, like DICE please, fix this.

I've fallen in love with the 12M. I don't even ADS, I just use a laser and beam everyone close or far with hipfire. Definitely not a bad weapon. Throw on a silencer and it's a beast at flanks.

shotguns are so underrated in this game. i've been using the MCS-880 pretty much since I unlocked it and its one-tap potential at close to mid range is obnoxiously powerful. i want to unlock the slug shells to make it more versatile but other than that it's great.

Hey stod. When you run out of ammo, just switch magazine via plus menu and the different ammo type will be fully stocked also full reserve ammo aswell. If there isnt ammo around to loot. Especially with long range weapons you can just use different sniper ammo to stay effective =) more of a niche thing but its helpful at times. U prolly know this but im just saying incase.

I've been getting sniped by them all day and the first week or so after I bought the game I died to them occasionally if I was low from a fight but today I kept getting dropped to a bullet or outright dying after peeking angles for a couple seconds and the only things hitting me were sentries. I dunno if it's just more of them around or what's happening

It's fine the way it is. Battlefield has always been one of the few games that treats their shotguns like actual shotguns. When the shotguns start overperforming by taking out choppers and disabling the sun like the USAS-12 with frag rounds that's when I'll start saying it's overpowered.

It's in no way OP. The fact that it can kill at range doesn't make it OP when literally everything else will outshoot it at those ranges. You'll only win medium to long range fights if the other person isn't shooting back.

I have similar footage except my targets are not as dumb as the ones in clip, and it takes to 20m or so, def NOT one to TWO shots to kill and the aim is upper body - perfect lock - 3,4,5 shots. This looks like instakill almost and its def not like this.

Yeah ok, let me pick up enough speed to get the momentum to hop glide for 100 yards and live but if a vehicle is going too fast off a slight incline and I jump out I die. The other day I saw a sundance dive bomb and closed the wingsuit before the ground and lived.

Honestly, I don't think it's overpowered. It still requires a lot of skill in terms of knowing where and how to fight. The dropoff for the shells should be added nontheless. But the PKP or the pre-nerf PP29 is what I would really call overpowered. I think the weapon balancing is overall good, maybe accept of the DMR's but they're I think difficult to balance. Almost every weapon has pros and cons.

I strictly use DMRs. Tier 1 on VCAR and DM7. They should give the VCAR less recoil, and remove bullet spread increase when you’re spraying. DM7 is underrated though. Red dot with CQ mag and compensator is powerful.
