I just ordered a 3 in 1 piezo mic. I'm new to them. I got a cheap one for $10. My plan is to start making experimental instruments, and recording anything that I can make a cool sound with. This idea is inspiring. I feel like experimental instruments are going to be my new hobby. May be one day I'll have my own business making weird sound generators. I'm still taking baby steps right now.

Way better. But it would be perfect with a bunch of the saw blades all tuned to dif notes. There is an interesting wooden instrument like that. You should copy it. Maybe in a lager enclosure. Seriously. With the drum pads too. The springs are useless. The beat pads into a looper with a song over it on the saw blades with a delay pedal, would be nice. I used to be a pedal builder. Let me know if you have questions.

this mod is awesome, searched for something like this a long time. Now i ordered one, and i cant wait to play with this and mod it! Like, is the re just a normal piezo element inside?

I haven't watched the video you linked to, but it's just a simple (if somewhat big) Piezo element inside of it (+tone pot/killswitch/jack). I bought mine on sale, which is why I got it for modding. They are closer to $135 than $200 when they're not on sale though. Hope you will have fun modding it!
