great video, clear and informative. Im hoping to build one of these myself so ive been looking for ideas on what to put on and inside of it. also i hope your engineering assistant was rewarded for all the effort it put in :D

It was definitely a fun project, I'm sure you'll enjoy working on your own instrument just as much!

I like what you did here, and I'm planning on getting into experimental instruments too. I just ordered my first piezo contact mic last night. I bought an already assembled 3 piezo 1 female 1/4 jack style. I noticed that you said you couldn't get piezo's to work, but the one you bought was a piezo. Do you mean you couldn't assemble your own, and had to buy an assembled one? I'm asking, because I was planning on doing something similar with the piezo mics I bought. Since I'll have 3, it should produce more power, and in turn more sound. I want to make mine with a larger case. I'm not sure what material I'll use yet. I was even thinking about a plastic storage container. I've been studying field recording, pedal fx, synthesizers, and electronics, and it led me to piezos. I haven't been this inspired for a long time. I can't wait until I get paid. I'm buying a bunch of stuff to build electronic instruments. I was even thinking about buying some cheap fx pedals to add onboard fx. I already own a couple better pedals, but I won't be tearing those apart. I wouldn't mind buying some used Behringer or Joyo pedals, and taking them apart, and doing some circuit bending to them.

@@FulminisIctus Thanks for responding. I was getting a little concerned about the one I ordered. Mine is already put together, so it should work. Stay blessed!

What software do you use to get real time sound on pc. I'm building one but the only way to listen to it is to record it with audacity and play it back

You'll probably have to try to somehow make it work in a DAW with some routing magic but I never needed to do that yet, so I'm not sure how to set it up
