The Fringe Sport Midas Revenge Barbell is one of the most aesthetically pleasing bars released in some time. It features 'Gold Titanium' on the sleeves (yes, the same material as used in Iron Man's suit) and is paired with black Cerakote on the shaft.
Although it's beautiful, the bigger question is whether it's durable. So, to test this, I dropped it overhead without any weight directly on a concrete floor. Quite the cringe-worthy experience, but somebody needs to do it. For science.

If you haven't seen AMRAP's video on this check it out. His sleeves didn't spin well so he took off the sleeves and they were all rusted out. Once he cleaned it up it spun much better. I also believe he's said his sleeves have shown wear with use.

Your other viewers might be clear about this point, but it's not a titanium gold alloy on the bar. Real titanium gold is β-Ti₃Au (where Ti is titanium and Au is gold). A titanium gold alloy barbell would be very expensive. According to Midas, they are using gold tinted titanium, which is titanium nitride (TiN, where N is nitrogen). From the FAQ on Midas: Are the sleeves real gold? No, the sleeves are coated in gold colored titanium. Titanium is 40% lighter than high-strength steel, but is just as strong. This means the sleeves on the Midas’ Revenge Bar are ultra-durable and resistant against oxidation. Unfortunately, real gold is super soft and easily bends, so it would be terrible for a coating on a barbell built for super performance.

It’s actually a titanium nitride coating (TiN). There isn’t any actual gold in it. It just appears that way. It’s used a lot for coating cutting tools in machining applications.

Titanium nitride is good stuff. It's used on saw blades, drill bits, and bolt carrier groups on ar15s. It's tough and slick.

Hello Mike, I sadly haven't used it personally, their is a video of strongman Loz using it for deadlifts. I have the ATX ram bar that has a 206.000 psi and is 28.5mm. Used it for 250kg squat. I am very satisfied with it, nos my only experience with other bars is bad gyms though.

They are alot of barbell and special barbell for Olympic weights. But they should make 7ft barbell for 1inch weights to and special barbell 1inch to. They still are selling 1inch weights at Walmart and Amazon and people working out with 1inch weights still.

Lastly mike you asked me about what VR I recommend the last video... oculus quest 2 $300 gets you a stand alone headset you can buy subscription fitness apps or games thrill of the fight is a great value sub $20 and it's a fun workout full immersive and serves as entertainment by itself... Can stream what coop is seeing in the headset not as funny looking as the iron neck but he will look funny if you did a video

Check for rust inside the sleeve. I saw someone else had this bar and said the spin was bad. Turned out to have tons of rust inside the sleeve.

Can ayone explain to me the difference between bushings and barings and how it impacts the bar?

Super short version for you. Bearings allow for great spin, which you want primarily for the Olympic lifts. Quality bushings still spin a fair bit, but not nearly as much. This is usually nice for powerlifting, where you don't necessarily want the plates moving too much. Hope this helped!

Titanium comes in many grades. The titanium in jewelry differs greatly than titanium used in submarine hulls.
