When this came out originally it was on the pub jukebox at least twice a night while I was playing pool. In fact this is the song which I most associate with playing pool in a pub, which I've been doing for 35 years. However I haven't heard it in a pub for a long time so the imprint on my mind is very very strong. So your theory is, in my case certainly, correct!

Saw these underwater creatures twice, once in Misseraboro and once in the Mayfair in Newcastle. At the Mayfair, I watched John from above, mesmerised for the whole gig by his effortless talent. I love the album version of this song, with the ridiculously-long guitar doodling at the end... true, it might've been completely self-indulgent, but there's a beautiful nod to both "Love Spreads" and "Voodoo Chile" in there somewhere that just drifts out of the bluesy jumble, and it's a joy to hear! Also, you can almost hear the rest of the band shaking their heads as they just give up and head off for a tea-break at the end, and John just keeps on jamming away on his own... lol
