I'm always thinking I'm some kind of hot shit power user and then I watch _REAPER Mania_ and I learn that the search and filter fields accept Boolean operators. Kenny Gioia keeping me humble. 🙏

04:50 commands to customize your search : AND INSERTSTRING : filter A AND INSERTSTRING OR INSERTSTRING : filter A or INSERTSTRING NOT INSERTSTRING : filter out INSERTSTRING (INSERTSTRING) : subfilter "INSERTSTRING" : exact INSERTSTRING word "INSERTSTRING " : exact INSERTSTRING word at the end " INSERTSTRING" : exact INSERTSTRING word at the beginning ^INSERTSTRING : starts with INSERTSTRING INSERTSTRING$ : ends with INSERTSTRING NB : "Spaces in quotes say that the search string must be at the start/end of a word within the matching line of text ("line of text" being an entire track name, plugin name, command name, etc.), while ^/$ say that the string must appear at the start/end of the entire line. By the way, ^ and $ come from "regular expressions" (search for that to know what they are), so you might encounter them in other pieces of software, with the same meaning."

It seems the filter doesn't work the way you describe at 9:00, at least for the JS plugins. Notice all the JS effects with "filter" at the end, or near the end of the name. Using "3-Band Peak Filter" as a test (filename is "3bandpeakfilter"), even removing the 2nd line of the plugin (a 2nd description line which has more information past "filter"), it still shows up in that search when it shouldn't.

What is the difference using spaces in quotes and ^$ ? The same functionality:-?

Spaces in quotes say that the search string must be at the start/end of a word within the matching line of text ("line of text" being an entire track name, plugin name, command name, etc.), while ^/$ say that the string must appear at the start/end of the entire line. By the way, ^ and $ come from "regular expressions" (search for that to know what they are), so you might encounter them in other pieces of software, with the same meaning.

How to select plugins from menu (like in Logic), not from fx browser?
