Thanks for doing that for him. My grandfather was a b17 flight instructor and may have taught him how to fly that bird! I remember all kinds of fun stories of him flying the 17s and 29s

Very well shot, produced, and edited. Fascinating story regarding this WWII operation, and thank you for documenting the recovery efforts for the pilot. Such important work to preserve the memories of those who gave all.

Lt. Joseph Kennedy is the subject of this search. The brother of JFK. Not sure why they decided not to mention who they are looking for.

Hi it's Nik Coleman. Thats not correct. Joe Kennedy Jnr died 30 miles away and 10 days later, unconnected with this event, save for the fact the Anvil project shared its aims and operations (it was USN) with the Aphrodite team. This is the B17 crash site. At 6'33" we clearly say the pilot was John Fisher, and continue to talk about him for the rest of the film.

@@billness2635 Yup his (Joe Jnr) aircraft detonated as or just after he armed it, blew to pieces in mid-air. He of course, also hasn't returned to the USA and there has been some talk of an effort to find remains, however I believe that aircraft was spread over several square miles.

Joe Kennedy junior was flying a BQ-8 robot aircraft, a converted B24 Liberator at the time of his death, the plane exploded with him still aboard.
