Lex, Why aren't you more involved and talk more about the UAP congressional hearings and that the military is admitting these are alien? Is it simply because you're a scientist and your hypocritical oath must dismiss this reality if it's not provable with concrete data for examination in a lab?? Isn't it obvious to you by now that UFOS are real and not adversaries?

Traveling through space in a conventional manner without expanding space itself such as a warp bubble, at the speed of light would be impossible. Even traveling at a fraction of the speed of light, micro meteorites colliding with your spacecraft would have the energy of a nuclear bomb being released. You could not survive it.
@DaFinkingOrk11 сағат бұрын
You could have ridiculously good defence like insanely good sensors combined with tons of powerful lasers to keep everything out the way at, say, 90% speed of light for example. Like CWIS on ships but a billion times better. It's not physically impossible it would just take massively better technology than we have now. Maybe in several centuries. The other cool idea I heard (thanks Isaac Arthur) is to spray stuff out in front of the ship to block stuff, then recover and recycle it back as you go. Maybe plasma or tiny pieces of metal or something else magnetic you can draw back in towards the rear of the ship. What ahead of our tech but not something impossible for someone ahead of us, or us in the future.

I once heard Michio Kaku (I think he was quoting a different scientist, forgot name but maybe Arthur C Clark?) say that either we are alone in the universe or we are not and both possibilities are equally terrifying. I totally DISAGREE. Yes there is some danger of aliens being dangerous but to me the risk is worth taking to make contact because there is also the possibility that aliens could be our friends and allies. To me it is worth the risk. I think being alone in the universe is much scarier. I literally feel emotional comfort when I imagine that there could be other beings out there in the universe.

A universe filled with life, if we're here in this solar system orbiting a star amongst close to 400 billion star's in our milkyway galaxy sitting surrounded by several million galaxies in the known visible universe then the odds are stacked high. It seems impossible to think we're alone and appears more likely that world's teeming with life is the natural process across the universe.

No evidence so far other than our own planet regardless.
@allenwood99678 сағат бұрын
@dantyler6907 I agree with what many have said about the circumstances, the visible universe is insanely packed galaxies containing billions of star's in each one, since 95 there's been thousands of star's discovered to have planet's orbiting them. It looks like the natural balance of the universe is to have many world's amongst the stars.
@Jacob-py9mx20 сағат бұрын
Since these planets are so many millions of light years away, even if we did find signs of civilization, isn't it very likely that the signs we are seeing are millions of years old, and they could be extinct by now.
@TheRazzaManazza19 сағат бұрын
The Milky Way galaxy is thought to have hundreds of billions of exoplanets within it, and the galaxy itself is thought to be 100,000 light years across. There may be thousands of exoplanets within 50-100 light years. ✨️

@@TheRazzaManazza If anyone out there was seeing our world with telescopes and hoping to make radio contact at any point in our history other than maybe 100 or so years ago they would get nothing. There is a theory that advanced beings existed on Earth eons ago and died out like Atlantis or whatever but even if that is true advanced beings that can communicate with radio are few and far between on a time scale. We are self destructive as a species and if we die off in a few hundred years it could be millions of years before another species evolves that ability here. So TIMING IT JUST RIGHT is almost impossible. I suspect that only a very tiny percentage of worlds with life on them specifically have life capable of radio communication. I never saw a T Rex or Polar bear or centipede or penguin or elephant operating a radio.

How could you have a hydrogen layer in the atmosphere that wouldn’t burn off the first time a meteor came crashing down?
@DaFinkingOrk12 сағат бұрын
Fuel and oxygen need to be well mixed for burning. If the hydrogen layer doesn't contain any or enough oxygen to burn then it won't. Or if it's not dense enough, too sparse. The hydrogen layer in the atmosphere is both of those things. It's above the oxygen because it's lighter, and it's very diffuse.
