I mean, theft is a theft, and we should never admire thieves. Yea, its a cool story and he had huge balls and was very well prepared (unless he died and was never found), but please don't admire people like him. He threatened the people on the airplane with a fcking bomb. Most of the crew was probably afraid to death, if anything went wrong and not according ot his plan, he could even kill some of those people by his actions. Cool story, but he wasn't a nice person.

My Dad once had an interesting encounter with a man who he believes was D.B Cooper. In either 1999 or 2000 he was hitchhiking from a small town called Chico in northern California to Seattle and along the way someone picked him up in a white van with a bunch of bicycles in the back, the guy said he was heading to Seattle as well and offered to drive him the rest of the way there. Along the way the guy kept talking about and asking my dad if he'd heard of D.B Cooper and the story behind it before. My dad said he'd heard of it but never really looked into it and so the guy who was giving him a ride drove him to some random places in the woods and was explaining everything about what happened, like where the jump site was, where it was thought he landed and everything. Something interesting my dad noticed was that in his explanations of everything he kept saying "I" but then changing it to "he" when talking about D.B Cooper. I guess my dad thought nothing of it at the time but after that the man dropped my dad off in Seattle and he never saw the man again. After getting to Seattle my dad decided to look up D.B Cooper to see what he looked like and my dad claims that the man looked identical to the depiction of D.B Cooper but since the incident was around 30 years prior and the fact that my dad didn't know where the man went, there was never an investigation into the case.

This is my favorite theory. For those of you wondering, this is a bit more than just a one line meme. Mainly the fact that people speculate about the origins of Tommy Wiseau (the guy from The Room), who seemingly came out of nowhere with a decent sum of money to produce a film. IIRC he has given several conflicting or strange remarks as to where he is from. Anyway, people wondering about what happened to DB Cooper and people wondering who Tommy Wiseau is eventually resulted in the pet theory that Tommy Wiseau is DB Cooper, which is absolute top tier headcanon

One of the craziest things is that the plane was actually being tailed by at least 5 other planes and no one seems to have seen him jump either. It's also very interesting how calm he was. It was described that he was calm, well-spoken, even paid his drink tab, offered the flight attendant the change and even showed said flight attendant the bomb when she asked. He even offered to also request food for everyone in case they were hungry, it's like he actively tried to make everyone as comfortable as possible because his issue was not with any of them.

Cigarettes. The brands was Raleigh filters. Raleighs were a mass market brand just like Camels or Winstons. Some people seem to think that it was an exotic brand. It wasn't but its market position was upscale male. Executives and secret agents smoked Raleighs. Major security measures came in long before the 9-11 attack. Passenger screening as it exists today was not started until after 2001 though. The red sticks in the attache case were designed to look like dynamite. It is widely believed that Cooper's bomb was fake. It is assumed that the name he purchased the ticket under, Dan Cooper, was fake but strictly speaking no absolute proof of that. One thing I find rather hilarious in this case was just how seemingly kind and respectful Cooper was. The fact that whilst seemingly planning his daring escape he was just casually having a conversation with Mucklow is quite amusing and rather charming. On the Wikipedia page about the case it states that Mucklow jokingly asked for a part of the ransom money which Cooper laughed at and handed over a wad of cash to her. She declined due to company policy but it's still funny to me. Cooper even offered Mucklow a cigarette as he asked her about where she was from. She stated that not once was he threatening or cruel to anyone on board, just calm and respectful. Cooper is a hijacker with class.

@@Asian2706 You watched too many movies. There is no such thing in real life, people jump off of planes at that height all the time and there's no such thing as the pressure forcing you out of the plane. Now if you're in space then sure, that's a thing but not on a plane.
@Asian27062 жыл бұрын
@@giantWario This is real life, yes, and so logic and science alike applies here. What you just said contradicted what this person said. Right? This person said the guy hid on the plane for a long while assuming the opening door point was 10 minutes into the flight, the man would’ve had to cling on the plane while the door was open for a whole hour. You said people fall off the plane at these heights while the door was open which was common sense and didn’t need to be stated. The problem is with this dudes logic is that in order for the dude to hide in the plane with the door open for a whole hour, this dude would need like 50,000 PSI of grip strength constantly applied for an hour, which is humanly impossible, and no matter what scenario you’re in, the movies or in real life, the pressure of air at high altitudes and speeds are undeniable. Don’t try to assume some common sense onto me if it wasn’t needed in the first place. What you said has no relevance to the topic, you’re response is trying to persuade me how a dude that old can just seemingly apply that much grip strength onto some object for that long of time, explain that to me. Even in movies you can’t replicate that kind of common sense, so you have to explain
@giantWario2 жыл бұрын
@@Asian2706 ...what the hell are you on about? Did you even watch the video? It wasn't a door, it was stairs and he didn't need to ''hold on to them'' or ''cling to the plane'' at all. He could have just opened them and then calmly gone back to his seat. What kind of wacky scenario have you made up in your head instead of just listening to the video you're commenting on?
@Asian27062 жыл бұрын
@@giantWario Doesn't matter, do you know how a plane works? What do we use stairs for, huh? We use stairs to descend down a level of something, and how many levels are on a plane? One! Ah, you've finally cleared your head. And what is that stairs for? Have you've ever been on a plane? If you haven't, I can't blame you, and it's fine if you haven't been on a plane, but it's not an excuse for you that you've forgotten that a plane uses stairs to allow passengers to descend down OUT OF THE PLANE to arrive at a destination. In order for cooper to use the stairs, he must OPEN AN EXIT OUT OF THE PLANE TO ACCESS THE STAIRWAY, and wouldn't you know, he did just that, and of course physics did its job and throbbed him outta the plane. I need all this scenario to explain all these things to you so that you understand the situation, otherwise if you use your that noggin of yours to work out real-life situations, that noggin wouldn't be the best tool to depend on for survival huh? So maybe this is why you haven't been on planes, you don't know how they operate and you're afraid that maybe if you do something on a plane, you could risk your life maybe, so allow me to explain some basic knowledge to you so that your head doesn't cost that heart of yours, you understand now? If you open an exit OUT OF A PLANE, as long as its leads OUT OF THE PLANE, it is subjected to what we call AIR PRESSURE, when something is at high altitudes flying at a constant velocity, there's this thing called LAW OF INTERTIA, got that, LAW OF INTERTIA pertaining to the G acceleration of earth's gravity. You can't just open a god damn exit out of the plane and expect nothing to happen, you try to stick your hand out the window of a plane and see what happens to those wrist bones huh?

A story about a guy who've somehow managed to hijack a plane, escape with $200,000, and jump out of a plane, all the while not wounding a single member on the flight; alongside the animated intro and instrumental piece at the start of the video gives off strong James Bond vibes.

Lemmino has consistently proven himself excellent at building a confusing, mysterious, and often times somewhat...vaguely unnerving atmosphere.

A combination of eerie music, calm voice with a slight accent, and choice of words in script, come together to make such a mysterious explanation of this strange event.

Think about how many people use 100's? Very rarely do people pay in large denominations. Now think about how many people use 1-20$. it's much harder to get caught if you use a denomination that most of the population uses as nobody is gonna check the serial number of a person with a 20 but if its a 100 you damn well know they are checking that bill with a counterfeit pen.
@RunnerProblems4 жыл бұрын
Okay, let's do this. Two flight attendants are conspirators as well as two passengers. Two ground-crew at the airport are there to smuggle any weapons onto the plane or other resources (parachutes). One of the passengers, who is wearing extensive makeup will be the perpetrator. Obviously ID will match passenger. It should be a international flight that travels over extensive forest. International because you can use a passport which you apply for online and upload your own picture, which you would provide an altered image. I'm not sure where would be the most sensible place to jump from a mid-flight plane. You would have to find the most suitable plane that is capable of crosslantic flight.
