What a lot of viewers never consider while watching Tony run around is the work of the poor cameraman who also has to run around, but lugging a camera and mike with him everywhere. The next time you are watching a reality show and some intrepid host is hanging off the side of a cliff or deep in a cave, remember that there is support staff with him on every foot of the trip, and they have much more equipment they have to juggle also.

I think a much bigger dig was done in the 1970s so this dig was more for the TV show. They knew pretty well where it was and didn't need to dig more. You'd be surprised how much damage a filming crew can do even when they are careful. I live near a historical area that generates a lot of attention. They got permission to film back in the 70s , took precautions and were careful. Put plants back etc but the weight of the equipment made changes to the ground that couldn't be reversed.

@@graphiquejack actually Richard 3 is considered the latest medieval king and Henry 7 is the first early modern king. It’s probably to do with the last Plantagenet King and the first Tudor King.

They should have dug the up the whole place and make it visible on the lawn afterwards with low walls, pebble paths and hedges. Much nicer than another boring lawn.

it's private property. same approach has been taken at many properties. it costs a fortune and a long t8me to get lawns looking like thar. Ask to dig up the golf clubs 18th hole and see where that gets you.

It's NOT private property...it belongs to the Royal family, and the buildings are leased out by The Crown Estate,

After the English Civil War ended and Charles the first was executed, the place was sold and later torn down for building materials.

Haha, I know it's dumb but I can't wrap my head around how history seems to bury itself into the ground. How? Why?

Why is her palace covered in dirt anyway?? Why not just let the castle stand? I'm so confused as to why there are lawns over top the castle now. 🤨

The rude way he snatched that brick without permission and then verbally cut off any input Mr Beric Morley the historian might add was poor form to say the least. Then not knowing metric dimensions of a Tudor brick deleted any confidence in his supposition, especially as it looked like he was approximating due to the obvious damage. Yes, very bothered, lol

Yes, I thought the same. The behavior seemed like a bunch of hot air to me. He certainly has a lot of knowledge but he monologized where he should have communicated. But, who knows what the script did tell him. After all it´s TV.

But yeah the these owners need to chill about their damn lawn. They have Elizabeth I palace under their lawn and they’re worried about the grass 🤦🏼‍♂️ they could dig the entire thing up and still fill it in again and re-turf. Geez
