The Search for Seo: an Unsolved Mystery (Elite Dangerous)

It's more than 24 hours since Admiral Aden Tanner of Aegis put out a call for pilots to track down former Azimuth test subject Seo Jin-Ae. Some evidence has been discovered about what happened to the test subject formerly known as D-2, but the trail appears to have gone cold.

Right after Seo says "I doubt on purpose" you can hear something dropping from supercruise in the background, to go along with whatever radar ghost she saw.

I'm out in the Heart Nebula so can't pick up the trail quite yet, but some thoughts that come to mind. *We can hear ship boosting noises in Seo's last audible transmission. Can we ID her ship type based on the ship boosting noises? *The line "there's no mention of building it" stands out to me. Does anyone else remember that suspicious Azimuth mining CG? Or the other locations Guardian tech was requested to be accumulated en masse? I would wager that Seo Jin-ae is alive and well, she didn't get this far without being an incredibly clever and skilled operator. She's still headed for Salvation, so if we can find him we will likely find her. Salvation 100% strikes me as the sort to have we CMDRs unwittingly build his mind uploader, under the pretense of building megaweapons. We should retrace our steps in the Proteus Wave manufacturing process/CGs methinks.

My guess is that the 'E-*ENGHY 6E 88' is a glitched/corrupted message similar to what we can see in cockpits when thargoids use their energy surge. Knowing that the 'E-*ENGHY 6E 88' possibly means 'Energy surge' and the pilots reaction 'What in the F**k is that!' Maybe Seo managed to call thargoids for rescue, or the thargoids found and captured her

I feel like people are ignoring some digits of the message title due to them not being alpha numeric. But if they are glitched out, could it give a hint of what letter or number was in this place by looking at the placement of the glitched digit on the keyboard?

@@Timberwolf69 not sure, it seems that the letters were not replaced in that way, if we take into account pilots response 'What in the f*' it is more likely that letters were added or replaced randomly

@@Timberwolf69 Problem is the start of the title is different in Spanish and German. In the other in-game languages, it's the same as the English title. Only the alphanumerical characters after the five periods are the same.

I think at the time I said Salvation wasn't dead, as it was an unnamed crew and the body wasn't recovered. At the time I assumed it was a body double or even a completely made-up story to allow Salvation to escape unhindered. But this Nemesis project might suggest another way of escape for him. Also, if his physical body was captured by the Thargoids, it makes you wonder whether the Thargoids could resurrect him some way. Might explain why Thargoids have been do interested in escape pods. So we might get Guardian Tech Salvation v Thargoided Salvation.

I spent a day and a half bouncing between the four systems Seo's pursuers had split off to, as well as several surrounding systems (including Mbooni, since it's an Azimuth stronghold). I found nothing beyond what you've covered here, but still had a good time doing it. I suspect that the subject line of the last message is simply "EMERGENCY MESSAGE". Salvation using Guardian tech to upload himself would be bad. The idea of him having access to a network of Guardian sites is even worse. But worst of all would be if he's discovered the Guardian Construct. Whether he'd taken it over, allied himself with it, woken it up, or simply made out aware of our existence, it could represent a greater threat to humanity than even the Thargoids. Or, ironically, it could be our salvation from them... And lest you think it went unnoticed, can we get clarification on the audio at the end of this episode? Should we put on our tin foil hats and try to decipher a hidden message?

Yeah, sorry to disappoint, but all black boxes make that same series of sounds. Check any degraded emissions site that has a private uplink and you'll see the same thing. We spent many hours on this before finding that out.

I don’t know if this has anything meaningful in it, but Alectrona is the daughter of Helios. She is also the governess of ‘man’s waking sense’ and has the ability to enlighten one’s mind to another plane. D-2 or Seo has had her mind messed with and she can communicate with thargoids telepathically. Needless to say I think her mind has accented to a higher plane than ours. Alectrona is also believed to be the goddess of awakening. It sure feels like we’ve woken up the thargoids, or we need to wake up the guardians. Alectrona wears jewelry made of Onyx. Onyx is believed to help protect against negative energy and thus allows the subject to have more energy and strength. I plan on looking into Onyx further at a later time, but maybe Seo is missing something that acts like Onyx does to Alectona, it help protect against negative energy. This might make it so the thargoids in her head are quieter, and then help her instead of chasing her. I feel like this has some further meaning. I plan on looking into all this at a later date.

1- I suspect the Black Flight division of Azimuth is still up and running. And I'd dearly take a bite at 'em. 2- Underlying beneath all the adding layers of the thargoid arc, I see Seo and Salvation as two sides of the same coin. The latter being the evil guy playing God and actively pitting two species against one another. The former being a potential intermediate which might lead to some form of understanding between thargoid and humankind....but ultimately this might mean her demise.

Spent a couple hours doing searches and experimenting and so far nothing. Trying to decipher the scrambled message and nothing so far. let's just hope all this guardian activation doesn't bring back the constructs that destroyed them.

Not entirely sure that the wrecked ship was attacked by Thargoids as no caustic damage or big, green , luminous cloud. More likely Seo either evaded her pursuers or she was taken by Nemesis (Nemesis was apparently the name of the ship Salvation was talking to humanity from before the Proteus wave not the Bright Sentinel) so It could be that Salvation has her.

I was waiting for Seo in the debris in Ankaa, and a random npc ship appear, saw me and high wake. I didn't have a wake scanner at the time so i couldn´t follow it. That's a bad Dev programing.

Had that happen to me as well and I returned twice afterwards and the ship didn't jump in. It was a System Authority Vessel but I also didn't get to check its wake. I presume it was a bug, as the System has no population.

If Salvation brings the Guardians back online I'm fighting for the Guardians why put quite simply I like their ships I like their Tech and to be honest me and salvation have a Mutual enemy the thargoids and I've always viewed the Guardians as allies so yeah that pretty much sums it up I know some of you will say salvation is evil an blah blah blah something else but to be honest I have always had a more close connection with the Guardians than anything else and I have always hated the thargoids
