They did change the rules with who could go to a national championship, let alone be crowned as one. BYU was in a position in about 95, 96 when they should have been selected for a national championship game and they were overlooked because of who they were. So there was a chance BYU actually could have had 2 national championships. The NCAA is so dirty and the coaches who help generate that money cheat like crazy. Nothing "happened to" Alabama. They didn't take care of business! Anyone with more than one loss needs to shut up. The teams that deserve to be there are there. There is no Florida State this year. The 12-teamformat succeeded! Beyond that, there are a few others who got in. They're lucky. And a few who didn't get in but think they should have. Miami, Bama, BYU, South Carolina can all make their cases. But they had the chance to make their cases on the field, and they didn't get it done. In MMA they say not to leave it in the hands of the judges. Same here. If you didn't get the knockout, you have to live with the judges' choices. @@TheLAGopher The SEC & B1G is already part of an alliance, per se', and have been working together on governance, scheduling arrangements, and other pertinent issues for over a year now...at least that is what I've heard!!! They have working committees that have been put together, and which are now rendering proposals and initiatives, to take back to the presidents in both conferences...plus, remember all that stuff about private equity and their super leagues, all the kinds of pish-pash the big12 was pushing and spreading? Well, you should notice you're no longer hearing anything about it! The 2 conferences squished it... Frankly, the SEC 'SHOULD' have the loudest voice at the table, it's the best...

But the B10 got more teams in the playoff than the SEC

I don't think 9-3 should get you into the playoffs, but I will say the competition difference between the Big 12 and the SEC is huge and you've said it yourself John.

Using that logic, Clemson found a loophole that got them in the playoffs by virtue of winning the ACC.

Because the sec plays in tropical weather while everyone else, even the ACC plays in the cold. Good luck passing in the slush. SEC is good when the weather is perfect, including indoor games. 😮. SEC will not win games at Penn State, ND, Michigan, West Virginia, Washington, etc., in the cold, wet, snowy, windy north. Their teams are designed around a controlled temperature climate where they can run whatever play they want, at will.

@@Joe-sm9qj did you not watch the Missouri Arkansas game there is 6 inches of snow and it was 15°

It's about a 1-game difference but if you factor in the SEC playing 8 conference games instead of 9 like everyone else, it's pretty even.

@@stinger0772 every game that is played in the SEC against another SEC team you're playing ranked teams. In the Big 12 you're playing 90% unranked teams.
