Tx fan here. I was lucky enough to watch an ASU game a few years ago a game they lost to Eastern Michigan and coach was fired. Congratulations to the program on turning things around so fast, you guys deserve respect. Even though Tx in SEC I still can’t stand arrogance of SEC fans.

Every fanbase has arrogance, it's part of the deal. My concern is that the targeting call that effecitively gave Texas a 'get out of jail free' card was so blatantly wrong that it doesn't bode well for the integrity of the game going forward. It seems like we may be headed for a CFP where anyone playing an SEC team better be up by at least two TDs because they'll have their thumb on the scale for the SEC team in a close game. Wouldn't feel this way if that targeting call weren't as textbook as it gets.

ASU dominated Texas stats don't lie . The ESPN talking bobbleheads said Texas has too much talent on offense and bulldoze the ASU defense. The might Texas defense will bottle up Skattebo and ASU has nothing else .....well Cam had nearly as many yards on offense as Texas entire offense!!! That mighty Texas rushing attack that was supposed to bulldoze ASU's defense had a total of 53 yards rushing ......a wrong call to blitz on 4th&13 with a 31-24 lead in overtime cost ASU the victory. They stop Texas and its ASU playing Ohio State.....Good luck to Texas in that one.

Here's something that I haven't heard being mentioned concerning the "no call targeting". If enforced, Michael Taaffee, TX #16, would have been ejected for the rest of that game and the first half of the next. And, with #16 not on the field the rest of ASU game, would that have reset the TX defense possibly impacting the PI that cost ASU the game?!? So, the no call bell has been rung and you can't un-ring it to help ASU, but Texas's Michael Taaffee, #16, should now have to sit for the next 2 halves of TX next game, as per the rule.

What he fails to recall is that BYU played average vs OKSt and was fortunate to come back and win at home against a team that was horrible and went 0-9 in conference. Then then had to sneak by a poor Utah team. Then lost to a below .500 team, that coincidentally ASU also beat. Then they got hammered vs ASU in the 1st and couldn't stop the run. ASU intentionally tries to not score and that's the only reason they had their hail Mary at the end. Not because BYU was coming back but because ASU allowed them another chance. Easily a 2 score game otherwise. And then they loved awful vs Houston in the last game. It was a score game with minutes left. Sorry. The last 5 games of the season were mediocre for BYU. That's why they didn't make the Big12 title game or get considered for the cfp. BYU, play better next time and maybe you would have. Playing well in a lower bowl game because your played bad prior doesn't let you be a revisionist and change what happened before. Reality is hard

The BYU loss to ASU was not the result of any fluke. ASU demolished BYU in the first half. I was there. It was glorious! Impressed by BYU's comeback in the 2nd half. Dillingham's clock management at the end of the game was bone-headed and allowed BYU a last second chance. Chance given - attempt taken - Cougars lost. End of story. Looking forward to next year's ASU v BYU game.

I grew up in Georgia and I have to say the SEC sucks. The Nick Saban era is done. The Big 10 is going to dominate for a while and the Big 12 will continue to rise with people wanting to come to successful programs at ASU, BYU, ISU, etc. I think the SEC will slowly but surely get dominated by Vanderbilt.

Which conference had the best bowl season? This will actually shock many people. The AAC. They have the best winning percentage by far and have wins over the SEC, Big 12 and ACC. Not bad for a G5 conference. I realize that many of these wins are relative, but if I had to pick one conference that really shined, it would have to be the AAC.

"Picked to be" does NOT equal last in the League. ASU won the conference championship and therefore was 'Best in the League." They played last years Big 12 champ and lost, injury and procedural player losses notwithstanding. If you don't have the depth to absorb those situations, it's a meaningless "what if."

I’m a Gator and been in the SEC all my life. I make no secret that I think Kurtz is an aspiring B12 Finebaum. But anyone being honest saw some of this. My team is bad, even with DJ, they went to OT vs Tenn, should’ve beat UGA. And beat LSU and Ole Miss. SEC had a down year and it beared out in bowl season. Performance in the NIL era can change rapidly. FSU is a great example, they went from 12-1, to 2-10, to probably 10-2 next year if you watch their portal moves. Same for ASU. What the playoffs have shown is byes for conference champs needs to go away.

ISU mens bb ramled #3, wrestling will finish top 5, cross country finished #2 behind BYU. A fact for you - Miami had a 3 pt lead at half with Cam but Miami also had one more possession in the first half than ISU after they received the opening kickoff. ISU would have put up 3 or 7 b4 half if they would have had the extra possession like Miami so there's a good chance ISU would have been up at half with Cam in the game. IMO, they need to get rid of the byes. Yes give auto bids to the 4 highest conference champions, but get rid of the byes. The layoff clearly hurt the 4 conference champions and didn’t make the playoff, outside of Tx/ASU, a fun experience. Very other game besides the peach and sugar bowls have been blow outs and have the public and pundits questioning why we even have a playoff in CFB. It’s made ppl forget the horrible systems that came before it. I also say the CFP should stay at 12. Just get rid of the byes. More on campus home games would be better for the sport.

@@kimcoulter806 If you look at the history of Boise State? They would do what TCU and Utah did when invited into a power conference. They been trying to get into a P5 conference since 2010. They were invited to a P6 conference of the Big East along with San Diego State. As for Boise State? They could beat Arizona State, BYU, Utah, Kansas, Texas Tech, Colorado and so forth. they are 8-5 all time against BYU, and they are their biggest rivalry outside of a couple of MWC teams. Boise State does have the better record against the PAC schools. Boise is a much better product than Houston would ever be. Big 12 should have invited Boise State instead of Houston. Houston is a third fiddle behind Texas A&M and Texas in their own home town. Boise does not have to contend with other schools for that market.

Shamari Simmons’ cheap hit on Iowa’s QB was unquestionably targeting. The refs and commentators said there was not any doubt about it. You are the only person who claims it is borderline. You must not be wearing your glasses to watch the games. Such BS. Simmons plays like a thug. The hit was brutal and intentional. He more than deserved to sit out. Rewatch the video with your glasses on. Do you dispute the contact in the Peach Bowl which was ruled as not-targeting? The refs didn’t call it. A video review was requested by ASU - whose coach said he doesn’t even know what targeting is. Hypocrisy to falsely cry targeting with a documented offender sitting on ASU’s bench. ASU lost for a lot of reasons….letting Texas convert on 4th and 13…and throwing an interception as the last play in double overtime. And when Cam Skattebo was lifted over the goal line? That goal should have been disallowed. Players cannot be lifted over the goal line. Check the NCAA rules.

By that logic that also means the big 12 is on borrowed time. They are a Frankenstein survival conference and are eventually going to being in the ranks of the G6/G7 conferences as well as if ACC has any realignment. What it will come down to is Power 2 conferences SEC and B1G and former power conferences get relegated back down to Mid major conferences which big 12 should already be in right now.
