The Second Coming of Christ - Revelation 19:6-16 - Skip Heitzig

Jesus said He was coming back (see John 14:3), and an angel told His disciples He would come back to the earth (see Acts 1:11). The second coming of Christ will be the culmination of redemptive history. After history runs its sinister course, after the final period of man’s rebellion, Satan’s retaliation, and God’s judgment is poured out, Jesus will return to planet earth. Today, we will consider four aspects of His return as found in Revelation 19 and throughout the Scriptures.

A few more prophetic mentions of the Second Coming that are often overlooked: -Joseph revealing himself to his brothers at a banquet after bringing them all to Egypt. -Joshua leading the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses lead them out of Egypt. -The Day of Trumpets, looking back to the creation of the universe and forward to the re-coronation of the Creator. -The Feast of Tabernacles, looking back to God tabernacling among the people in the wilderness and forward to Jesus temporarily dwelling with his people in the 1st century as well as to the great regathering of all his people and representatives of all the nations at the Feast in Jerusalem after the 2nd coming.

I enjoy these sermons and, in particular, Skip's passion. A question, however: where in the scriptures does it identify Russia as one of the principals joining Turkey and Iran in the Gog/Magog invasion of Israel? I realize this is a popular interpretation stemming from an assumption that Rosh in Ezekiel must be Russia because, for example, they sound somewhat similar. Then again, many also identify Gomer as Germany for the same reason, even though the latter is an English term and the English language didn't exist until well after Ezekiel's time. While "Rosh" was a son of Benjamin (Genesis 46:21), the word is also a Hebraic adjective meaning "the head" or "chief," for example, "Rosh Hashanah," the first or "head" day of the Jewish "High Holy Days" in the month of Tishrei. Moreover, bible translations that render Ezekiel 38:3 and 39:1 as "O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal" are a relatively recent development. Original, traditional translations had it "O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal., Accordingly, it seems a stretch to declare that Ezekiel's use of "rosh" was intended as a reference to modern-day Russia.

Concerning the Day of the Lord (His return), and the gathering together to Him (The Rapture): Read 2nd Thessalonians. It is true, that Christians are not appointed to wrath. The wrath of God and the Great Tribulation are not the same event. The Great Tribulation is the antichrist's rulership. For those who go along to get along, to them it will be life as usual. For those Christians who will not, for them it is The Great Tribulation. Christ’s return is to bring the wrath of God, and to destroy the kingdoms of the antichrist, and the antichrist It is written, " Let no one deceive you by any means." Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. The marriage supper doesn't take place in heaven it takes place here on earth, read Ezekiel 39 they are here on earth, not in heaven. Go back and read the whole chapter, and explain how can u be eating flesh in heaven, the flesh of kings, the flesh of horses ECT. I don't belive in a pre-trib rapture. Scripture tells us we'll meet Jesus when he gathers his elect on the Day of the Lord "immediately after" the tribulation. There's no double secret return of Christ before then. How can there be a pre-trib rapture when Scripture says we will not "precede" the dead in Christ. Thessalonians 4:15-17 "According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are STILL ALIVE, who are left until the Coming of the Lord, will certainly NOT PRECEDE those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will RISE FIRST. After that, we who are STILL ALIVE and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." Great Tribulation, Day of the Lord, and Rapture. "He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” -Matthew 24:13

U do a lot of talking, and very little of actually reading the word. Your good at what u do paster Skip, but in teaching the word it's not how good u can recall scripture in teaching the word, it's how good are u at reading the word, and explaining the word, so that people can do as Jesus said, which is take notes. In four days u normally forget about 40 to 50 percent of what u hear, so notes are important. And reading the word also helps stop Minister's from reading what they want, and nothing controversial, because if u read each verse of the book of Revelation people would see what your not teaching, and so would u.

If there was, why would Jesus, a man who never sinned -Why would He willingly offer up His life into the hands of man knowing that He would ultimately face excruciating pain from a Roman crucifixion. ?? Why did He sweat blood the night prior to His arrest?Lord I pray for RevDrD that you will open his eyes to the glory of the Gosple of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice of the shedding of His precious blood for the atonement of mankind's sins, and that there is NOTHING that we as individual, & wretched sinners can physically do to inherit salvation and eternal life. Jesus willingly did ALLLLL of this, the whipping, the mockery, the scourging, the crown of thorns, the nails, all the excruciating pain that being nailed to a cross from a Roman crucifixion brings -He did it ALL, for He knew that, that was THE ONLY WAY, that we as wretched, & wicked sinners could have atonement for our sins -THERE IS NOTHING MANKIND COULD EVER DO TO RECIEVE FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS. For it is written: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only?
