lol i live on Sugarloaf and the idea that winter is totally rideable and that you can easily ride the mountains 2 days after a snowstorm is ludicrous. The corners and shaded parts of the canyons stay snow-bound and ice-bound for weeks at a time. You can barely drive it with snow tires. Yes, you can probably ride to Hygiene if it warms up to 40-50 after a storm, but the mountain roads are still going to be rivers of black ice.

Fort Collins has great riding too. It’s also closer to ride up to Estes park or toward steamboat springs

Awesome place but the cost of homes is insane.

Hardest thing about Boulder riding is you want to swap out bikes midway through your ride once you abruptly go from smooth blacktops to chewed-up gravel.

altitude 5000ft? long climb 30min? steep? These guys should try cycling in Costa Rica, I could do a 1h climb at 10-15% and still be half way up
