a great slice of life moment at the beginning of the episode! Id love to eat pancakes outside. Also that soup snuflin makes looks so good. ALL of the food in this episode looks good! I also just love moomin mama. She reminds me so much of my older sister.

Unfortunately Moominpappa’s original voice actor Peter Whitman passed away as the dubbing was made in 1995 so William Roberts took his place- I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a lot of time to pick someone to do a proper “mock-up” due to the untimely demise…

Part of me is annoyed that moomin mamas whole personality is cooking, cleaning, being responsible adult and idea that *gasps dramatically* her family might be bit bored of her cooking puts her into a frantic state... all while moomin papa is absolutely useless additional kid. Other part of me appreciates that when others are like "oh no, we need to bring moomin mama back!" moomin papa reacts with "leave your mother be, she has her important stuff and she knows whats shes doing".

I see what you mean, but some women are like that. Ive met several who find fulfillment in giving to their family. My grandma isnt happy unless she is cooking and cleaning, even on her own birthday. We have to force her out of the kitchen so we can do our own chores lol. And a good friend of mine loves to serve her husband dinner, she doesnt want him getting up and preparing his own plate. Of course he hunts, fixes the truck and repairs the house when things go wrong so its not like he sits around all day smoking or something, but I was surprised how happy she was serving him. Moominmama is a certain stereotype of woman that is nostalgic to a lot of people who grew with grandmas or mothers like her
