I am a structure engineer, and after years working so hard and getting my EIT , I noticed that with putting effort in one month or 2 you can land a job with better base pay from whatever I was paid and there is a learning curve and as you get more experience you can land on higher pay as well. No board licence needed and just by experience and having some certifications you can develop your skill set and find your financial freedom. This is so cool. But it's a challenge to land a job specifically when you don't have experience and all you know is theories, this is the best for college or highschool kids that have a long way ahead . I noticed the job offers are starting from 40 k as starters and the one's who have the certification, which is better than alot of jobs for those kids to put their energy to the right way.

I've been following Boyd for about a year now. Am a Truck driver but shifting to IT now. Tired of driving & away from family. Am doing the Qualys training now, will be finishing soon. Also got some others certification along the way through try hack me. I got the month of June off from driving. Will see what I can achieve through this 30 days of what I call self boot camp. I am training & certification through Forage, and Cisco cybersecurity, and through HTB. Putting more focus on hands on skills than multiple choices certification. My goal is to get entry level cybersecurity job after 30 days. I don't know if is possible.

It's possible with hard work and dedication. If i had 30 days off from work to focus on training. Especially if it's with Boyd omg do it Please.

Yeah. Definitely, I've learned the Qualys training through his KZbin & getting familiar with the GRC toolkit. I am subscribed to his channel so I don't miss any new content he drop. I've to look my email i received from boyd talking about an amazing program called PPB I think. I just don't remember if that was a 30 days bootcamp or 90 I will probably recheck my ema il I did save it. I just don't know if a newbie like can sign up for that program though.

For over 10 years of CDL driving, most paperwork I have done was writing incident reports. Cyber Security seems fun to get into but I have no idea how to get started and what I need to do.

I hope you answer my question. I have a degree in IT (computer networking- Associates) but never worked in IT. I had four certifications. 1 cisco. 2 AWS and 1 Palo Alto. I got my degree in 2012, I'm also in my 50's. Also, I forgot everything and will fully admit that, I'm not really a computer guy. I just got the degree and had a high GPA I know I sucked in networking when it comes to the social aspect. It was not because of lacking social skills. At that time it was because. I really did not want to live any longer in Houston Tx and I really did not know any computer people and I did not do any examples of my skills and posted them online. Because I always felt that. I would be doing the wrong thing and having all these examples of what I can do but not being related to the job I was applying for. Sidenote, I looked for years, many years. I say all of that to say this. I would like to learn CS but in the back of my mind. I feel like I will setup myself for failure. It even hurts talking about this. The bottom line, I just want a job that I can work at home and not have to jump through hoops and post a gabillion projects. I just need 5 years. I do not care what the job is as long as I'm not working at help desk capacity, especially level 1. My goal is to work abroad and stack money...that's it. Sorry for the rant.

I've been doing something similar with chat gpt, basically I copy and paste the job description along with my relevant experience and ask it to give me the connecting points. Very helpful to prepare interviews.

Love to see this, Boyd! I tuned into the stream recently asking about pivoting and transferable skills and left with a bit gold but coming back to see you upload some straight up PLATINUM on the subject was a solid one-two punch! No doubts about the pivot, now! Thanks again 🙏🏾

wow i just tried it...i apparently have 10 transferrable skills that line right up with GRC ... I am guessing 6 years in Physical security and 4 as a supervisor of a college dorm was half of that. Alot of the relatable crossover with security and cybersecurity mesh. Man I have been going about this all wrong lol🤣

Hi thank you for your vid but what is if you are from the field ? I’ve got a linguistic BA but I am IT passionate I’ve started to learn coding for about a year and discovered cybersecurity is what I want to work in just because protecting and defending belongs to my personality. Of course I still continue to learn coding and learning project management and data analysis on my own because I know that are complementary skills. Ok maybe it sounds as I am about to become a Mac giver freak, but I always want to learn new things to stay updated and I always want to be challenged and fix things and solve problems. So, I think these are the right prerogatives to the job, right?!😊

I just got my Sec + 701 scored a 832 but now this $97 masterclass is a no brainer to me. What does do you guys meet or is it self pace? I hope it doesn't conflict w my current class.
