I was a chef for 3 years at the Waikiki location which hapened to be THE BUSIEST location racking over half a million in revenu per week. Everything about prep is true, we come in at 6AM and prep everything from the wings you consume, the tortillas, the sauces and dips, etc. Having that 5 hour window sometimes wasnt enough for the amount of prep we actually needed. This is all thoroughly accurate from a BOH standpoint. Also for those worried about food waste, Waikiki has a green bin system that all leftover food is given to farms around the hawaii chain to feed local farm animals.

I've only ever had a good time at a Cheesecake Factory. I think you could have easily highlighted the main reason for their quirky authenticity - the founder and owner is still alive. Restaurants tend to go downhill after they are acquired by private equity firms. I would suggest anyone who can goes to a Cheesecake Factory before that happens.

This video mixes up units and gets things wrong. At 05:00 the "2950" represents 2,950 kilocalories or 2,950,000 calories. The number at the bottom should 2,000,000 calories. The 2,000 daily limit people talk about is 2,000 kcal or 2,000,000 calories. So those factory nachos with spicy chicken would account for 1.5 days worth of food in a single meal, yikes.

The cheesecake factory in Indianapolis is legendary for courting diners from hours away each weekend. I imagine others have similar effects. Their proximity to malls is synergistic: diners make a day out of their trip to the big city by shopping and then going to Cheesecake. And in return, Cheesecake gets patronage during off-hours and the guaranteed crowds it needs to sustain its large menu and table count. It's kind of genius.

The "throw all cuisines together" is a very common theme in many indian multi-cuisine restaurants too. Mostly they're starting out with North Indian, mainly Punjabi dishes, South Indian dishes, Indian Chinese/Kolkata Chinese, sandwiches, juices, chats (small plate spiced combinations of crispy and fried items) and nowadays pizzas, burgers and a few mexican (nachos and tacos mainly) and middle eastern dishes (shawarma, hummus variations) will peak through.

In the Philippines, the only exposure I have to The Cheesecake Factory is their frozen cheesecakes, movies making jokes about it, and Glee and the Big Bang Theory (series) characters frequently eating in it. I love their cheesecake. I think it's some of the best I've had. I love this video and I wish I could eat in one

This really reminds me when I went to the countryside in my country and went to the local restaurants. Their menus tend to have a lot of variety, there's really no real theme except what the owners want to make and can make. So pizza to sushi boats to bone marrow soups to all day breakfasts. The area isn't really dense so specialized shops don't do well, so the few restaurants around try to offer as much as they can.

This felt like one long add read more than an educational video. I’m still left with so many questions. What kind of cost/benefit analysis is telling them to not open more locations? How is it that only they are able to not cut the menu without affecting their bottom line? And so on

3:17 The menu alone is one of it's greatest assets I think. The choices and quality are why it's such a home run for family celebrations and office parties and so on (everyone can get something they love).

When I first met my long-distance girlfriend in Chicago, I went into the Cheesecake Factory expecting it to be an ultra-kitschy version of Applebees, just your average run of the mill diner. Instead, we were exceptionally surprised by the food and it has become our favourite restaurant to visit when we're in a big American city.

Yes it is all scratch except the cheesecakes. As a line chef and prep cook there for 2 years now I have only learned how to make half the menu as well as all of the sauces and most other prep that comes in at 6 am. We don't make EVERY sauce every day. Thays actually impossible but we do make anywhere from 25-90 sauces each day depending on the time of year. It's so expensive because of all the work that goes into trying to produce high quality scratch made food at an exceptionally fast rate. It may be a lot of calories and big portions but as long as you don't eat there everyday, 1 day of 3000 calories won't kill you. I'm very proud to be a chef at the cheesecake factory 😄

You’ve successfully convinced me that america should be using Cheesecake Factory as its embassy, not McDonald’s, since it seems like an over-the-top American thing that is actually successful. The idea of an actually fine dining place being seen as tacky and cheap and actually enjoying not giving a shit is the most painfully American thing I could think of

The fact that they have such a large menu, use fresh ingredients, hire real chefs and cooks, preparing everything from scratch, maintain competitive pricing against microwaved frozen food chains, and be profitable is a huge mystery.
