About coffee. Turška kava - Turkish way of preparing it. First bring water to a boil in a "džezva" on a stove. Stop the stove/fire/whatever. Put the ground coffee in the water, mix it with a spoon and bring it to slow boil again. Watch it because it can overboil easily Wait a few moments for a grounds to settle at the bottom (or not :D) and pour it in the cup. Some people add sugar or/and milk

If you are interested, there is a student Holy Mass every Wednesday in the Franciscan church (the red one on Prešeren square). It starts at around 18:00 or 19:00 (can’t remember, it’s been a while since I studied in Ljubljana🙂). The church is usually full of students and the ceremony is a bit more modern (not necessarily a good thing, I prefer organs over guitars). Should be a nice experience, nonetheless.

When the next season starts, the farmers market near the river is the best thing EVER. The short time I lived there, I would get milk from the mlekomat, and strawberries that were the best I have ever had in my life -- IF you find the right farmer. :)

hahaha I have learned this week that my coffee skills are terrible. I completely misunderstood how the coffee is made. I will redeem myself in the future lol. Cheers for the comment!!
@mirkozlikovski9553Ай бұрын
As the other comments mentioned.... to prepare Turkish coffee, you need a designated coffee pot called džezva (it costs 10-15 EUR, you can buy it in maxi I think). You bring water to boil, take it off the stove, mix the coffee in, and then slowly bring it back to boil, at least 3 times.... And you can take bus no.20 to your faculty, it has the buss stop on the other side of the faculty building, much closer than you walk from the no.6 bus stop 😉
@LifewithAaronArnoldАй бұрын
I am currently realized how big of a mistake I made in preparing the coffee lol. Thank you so much for the detailed process so that I can redeem my mistake haha. Thank you for the bus tip. I took #20 for first time this week, and yes you are correct. It drops you off much closer to the campus. Cheers and I hope you enjoy future videos!!
@mirkozlikovski9553Ай бұрын
@@LifewithAaronArnold 😁👍... just bear in mind that the no.20 is not as frequent as no.6. If you are going to buy a džezva, buy an iron one (if you have an induction cooker). Mind just that it takes a bit longer to boil than it does in the electric kettle.... After that, it's just a matter of experimenting to find the ratio of the coffee and water to suit your taste. Though, since Barcaffe is slightly acidic, I like to add a bit of sugar, to level it....For instance, every morning I cook it for two large cups of cafe late, for me and my spouse.... I pour about 3-3.5 dl (roughly 1.4 US cup) of water into džezva, bring it to boil, add 4 full spoons of coffee and 1/2 of the spoon of brown sugar. Mix the coffee lowly in and then I bring everything to boil again, taking it on and off the flame 3 to 4 times when it "lifts" (and mix it until the foam dissolves, because I don't like it 😏).... But feel free to find your own way by experimenting and tasting .

For making coffee, western Slovenians use Italian style mokka pot (which is better than bosnian style đezva imo, that the rest of Slovenians generally use), but I don't think that people actually make it the way you did. Also for student vouchers, you can have free sandwiches, burek and salads at Žito Bavarski Dvor, and there is also free all you can eat breakfast with eggs, toast, croissants and coffee at EF Menza (where you study), I think everyday from 7 to 9.

Nice vlogs! But honey...whoever taught you to make coffee like that? This isn't cocoa :) Get yourself a nice dzezva and make turkish coffee, it's what most of us do. You can get a dzezva in any big Interspar or Merkur or similar. Pour water into dzezva (about half ful), boil on stove. Put dzezva off the stove, put in two or three spoons of the barcaffe you're already using. Put the dzezva back on the stove (watch out, it'll boil over fast!) I always wait for the coffee to boil up the dzezva, then pour the foamy part into a cup...then repeat till the cup is ful! Add sugar or milk if you'd like. If you do it this way, all the residue will rest at the bottom of the cup and won't float around as you drink it. Be careful not to drink to the very bottom or you'll have a mouthful of residue in the end - not fun! Then, if you're into it, you can turn the cup over and predict your future. Just kidding, we don't do that...I think. Enjoy!
