Part of the reason you lost weight in Slovenia is also d/t loss of muscle mass. When I stopped going to gym, I lost 10 lbs over 6 months even though I changed nothing else except walking a bit more. Once I returned to lifting weights, I gained that weight right back. I'm betting you aren't as strong as you used to be.

in my opinion, American cuisine tastes great, but its oversaturated with sugars, fats etc. so while youre in bliss eating that, your weight will grow due to how calorie heavy that food is, this is mostly aimed towards restaurant food. Then again, what do i know, never been to USA 😅 And about walking a lot more: US and Canada have become car-centric countries, everywhere you go, you go by car, and due to zoning, no shops can be built in the suburb residential areas, so ppl have to use cars to get to a store. Biased opinion: Europe better, Slovenia best 😆

Come to Celje ( my city ) is the third largest city in Slovenia ( around 50.000 inhabitants ) and historically very important city. It was all ready very important town in Roman period ( Celeia ) and after in 15.century it was capital of Dukes of Celje..a very powerful medieval family who rules over a large parts of today Slovenia, Croatia and Austria. The old castle overlooking the city is a main atracttion. Celje is just in the half way between Ljubljana and Maribor. You passed there with the train.
