My mother was from England. This was really interesting. I have trouble remembering what I was listening to because of memory loss It was fascinating how she could remember all that without any notes. She is definitely great at what she does. I need to hear a repeat when I'm not tired. I'm liking Hstory A little more all the time. I wasn't crazy about it in school. History is like a mystery when you learn it for the 1st time.

I am totally with you ... was watching Jim Parsons Intel commercials and then fell over this one and watched it, because it was so well explained, in its entirety and it really gave me a complete different view about big data.

1086? Its the year 1066 for the death of Edward the confessor and the subsequent battle at hasting between William and Harold. The most famous date in English history...

8 years late to the party, but very glad this data has persisted. It's message about humanity's role in shaping our future potential by understanding the limitations, benefits, and usage of the data we collect still carry full weight. Has big data become more or less respomsible for the data it carries? Are users shaping their content or is content supplied to shape our users? Data and the digital environments we we sculpt and collect them in still seem to be missing the bar 8 years since this inspirational address. Certainly if we can architect electronic circuits to deliver us digitized representations of analog experiences, we as a species should have managed cohesive and cooperative initiatives for the benefit of our terrestrial sphere and all its inhabitants... 2022: more war, more mass poverty, more violent crime, more severe ecologic loss, more human rights abuses, increased activity of toxic net subcultures -faster processors. If Big Data = human; it becomes apparent that humanity chooses data-for-profit over sanctity of life and nurture nature concepts by an overwhelming majority, time and time again. Sometimes I wonder if technological prowess is being hailed as an advancement before the results are in… at times, it sure seems like a not insignificant amount of backward progress to me. Then, there's that fickle thing, hope. We all have so much latitude to grow if we only choose to. The net offers a window into humanity that still marvels in its connections and variety and speed of transmission. I thank the many humans who've shaped Intel. Computers and data and the user-stories they represent have challenged me to know humanity better, to strive for knowledge in shifting data tides, and to appreciate more fully the history of man-kind as a species. Our present-our future, are still ours to own and write, here's a cheer to hoping we get it right! Salud!

JohnFaribaYasmin Pebblebrook If you look up the dates 1066 and 1086 you'll see that the first is the battle of hastings, but the second is the *completion of the domesday book* (yeah I had to check I spelled that right too). Maybe that's it.

Also, it should've been no surprise they'd not survey how many women and children, as they could not be drafted as Warriors, which was the point of the "Survey", aka the Domesday Book.

What happened to intel? I had great expectations for the i710900k and when I looked at the benchmarks today I was just disappointed. Yes, of course, when it comes to gaming, he beats a 3900x and a 3950x but only by a pitiful 3-5% and will therefore again be the frontrunner in real gaming CPU. But in my opinion I have to say that the price is much too high for them! Especially since it is still recommended to add an AIO water cooling with 360mm fans because this is already a real hot head!

when someone does not have anything useful to say. they say lots of irrelevant useless stories and waste people time. Really what does this woman (an anthropologist) doing in Intel or why they have chosen her to talk about big data?! it was waste of time and a thump down for Intel. the problem is that this woman is too self-confident!
