FWIW, there is no animation on the side of my Roku Ultra when doing the reboot keystroke sequence. It just appears to be locked before it finally reboots. (Don't forget to wait for the msg about mounting the microSD card if your system uses one!)

Public Service Announcement - looks like the codes to access the secret menus need to be entered using the remote that comes with Roku or an original physical Roku remote. I tried using Roku’s iPhone App remote and also my universal remotes on three different Roku sticks to no avail. The codes only worked when entered with the physical Roku remote.

This is the TVs service menu every TV has one be careful messing around with some of those settings you can do some damage that not even a factory reset can fix and you'll need to get a new TV

There is a much easier way to reboot than anyway you've said. Simple. Just pull the power cord from the roku and amazing once you plug it back in the roku is going to be rebooting. Simple easy and reliable. I'd do it my way before wasting my time doing it either of your two ways.

Pressing home button five times up and rewind two times fast forward two times is hard? 🤔. It literally takes 5 seconds I don't have to get up and walk to the TV and unplug anything. And it fixed some issues I was having with KZbin, so it absolutely works.

Did you ever figure out how to reset password...?? You have to do a full reset. In settings. Then online. Go to roku.com and click forgot password. It'll explain what to do from there. OR... IF you have another email adress. You can add it to roku then use and set it up with that new email... Goodluck. Reply if you need more assistance.
