I don't know why companies have to ruin a good thing. Every time they "upgrade" the firmware, all of my Roku devices get slower and slower. It happens to all of them regardless of model. I have several Ultra models and they've slowed considerably. It can take 10 seconds just to have something happen when I press the Home button. It can take 30 seconds or more if I do it while streaming in an app. If I spam the button they often crash and reboot. A couple years ago there was zero delay, they all worked like lightning. Yes, I've cleared the caches, etc. and they are all hardwired with zero connectivity issues, it's 100% firmware related. Wish it was possible to downgrade. (not really related to the video but I just needed to rant)

Don't mess with these settings that he's showing you unless you know exactly what you're doing. I managed to destroy a perfectly good Roku TV and when it's done there's no going back. My TV now flashes the Roku screen and Powers off and on every 2 seconds. The reset button on the back of the TV is useless unless the TV is powered on. With it flipping on and off every 2; seconds the reset button is useless.

Thanks for doing all this research. One problem for me. I bought a Roku when they first came out and being very simple minded and on the older side, I had no problem figuring it out. Please don't misunderstand, I have no idea what you're talking about concerning the "secrets". Also, because my hearing isn't what it used to be and you were speaking way too fast for me to follow. Here's a tip. Click the gear icon (settings) look for "playback speed'" on the menu. Click it and select you desired playback speed. Cheers!

Slow the speed and turn on the closed captions. The "cc" button in the top right corner of the video when you're playing the video. KZbins closed captioning isn't always 100% accurate but it's usually good enough you can make out what's being said. Hopefully this helps with the other suggestions from ppl.

What i did was unplug my tv completely, sit for abt 5 minutes and then up and try again, mine refused to connect to the internet, or try one the secret menus to try to software update it (Home ×5, Fast Forward ×3, Rewind ×2)
