So this is a pretty misleading title. Developer mode and Sideloading apps that are MADE for roku isnt jailbreaking. What youre doing is adding apps that didnt make the cut for the store or were removed. This is absolutely not a jailbreak but im pretty sure you know this and intentionally are being misleading.

Dude... Jailbreaking does not mean sideloading. When we talk about jailbreaking we're talking about actual software hacking, bios stripping, and full on hardware access to memory to throw in another OS all together. It usually involves hooking up the device to a pc and cracking as much of it as possible. Its all chipsets dude...its all chipsets.

yes you can, you should be able to stream your display onto the tv via wifi. just check your display options and it should show your tv as a wireless connection if on the same wifi network

There was a time when Fire TV devices didn't have all of the main streaming services, in the UK at least - I think it was Now TV which is quite popular in the UK that it didn't have if I remember correctly. It's why I got one a while ago. The basic models were also often cheaper than Amazon devices, think I got mine for £20. Also, not everybody is into sideloading apps, and some people have an ethical objection to Amazon as a company.
