What is "A Voice in the Desert"?
A Voice in the Desert is anonymous. Its purpose is to point people to the message, rather than the messenger. That's a title whom we call Jesus! I do agree wholeheartedly with you. Yes everything you say is consistent. And the word of God it's far better to describe him than other words or names that people use. He will tell you exactly what his name is when you ask him. He will also tell you that it doesn't matter what name you call him by it's the energy coming from your heart when you address him that matters. He listens to people worshiping in all doctrines and receives Joy upon them praising him. I also know for a fact that he does hold you dear for preaching the teachings of Jesus. Far more than all the other pastures who refuse to teach the true teachings. But if you just want to know just ask him he will tell you!

I see all things of 'orthodoxy, or historical' as having been derived from the Vine "OF THE WORLD", 666 in Greek~~~ as the "OLD WINE". But the purest and brightest SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS , even when using the same words, produce the NEW WINE, purely new eschatology, the latest 'VISITATION' , centered in a new identity: ELIJAH. It is the crown of a good name, Jews have used for many special rabbis/teachers, like BaalShemTov , Lord GoodName. It was like finding TREASURE that I "knew" God hid in plain sight , although it has taken most of my life to find and realize . I am the man WHO RECEIVED SIGHT/SEEING, not just vision. I am the man who always HEARKENED, despite externall understanding, even hearing the same things a thousand times . The Spirit of Prophecy = Testimony of JESUS' "ALTRUISM"~~ it IS FULFILLED, when the conditions of that reality are met and understood. You are one of the few who could probably understand it. Just watched it. And love the message in it. I am so thankful that I have never been money hungry. I am poor. I own a truck that is beat up and live in a small RV that has no running water but I have HOPE and a promise from Jesus. Nothing on this earth means anything to me. I do love my mother she means a lot to me but when I say nothing I mean that my goal is to hear Jesus say well done on judgement day. I have let the Lord down many times in my life but try to die daily and keep God first. For with out him I am nothing. Jesus said if someone ask give, if someone ask to borrow turn them not away, I work hard on my job and do my very best to put my debts first and I have always had food and shelter. Praise God

Ive had 50 years, of Bible and Churchs way... 2 years ago I was shook awake at least that's what it feels like.. And he said unto his disciples as he ascended up into the heavens if I do not go sit at the right hand of the father and the helper cannot come Once we believe .. Aren't we the Helpers, as the Holy Spirit guides us thru Jesus, and do u think the Nag Hammadi texts hold weight. See I was raised baptist and left the church and overtime became gnostic either way I knew the bible had been translated and diluted. Yet Jesus was always true in my heart I could never deny him. Saw this video a couple years ago, and I could never find it again. Thank you for this. The people who replace Jesus as the word of God with the Bible are placing the Bible on a pedestal where it doesn’t need to be. They turn it into their idol, in a way, even though like you pointed out in the video, nowhere in the old or New Testament does it say that the Bible is the word of God. The living Word of God is the Lord Jesus, not the books that testify of him.

Heres another perspective, to compliment your interpretation, in John ch 1 verse 1 it states: in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Ive heard someone say that this was translated from the greek word Logos, which if you ask google what it is right now as i just did on my phone, defines it as exactly what you said His name is in Revelation 19:13 "The Word of God." Good reminder 👏 Anyways, the greek translation of Logos could mean knowledge, which seems like a more apropos substitution than in the section of your video where you sub "Bible" in for "Word" for John's statement. Thus, we have: in the beginning was the knowledge, which was with God, and the knowledge WAS GOD. I take this as the fact that one can even know anything is because of the Divine (fr our Father & Jesus). In other looser associations revisiting the term logos if you expand the definition it says "its the divine principle of reason & order" which coincides with your earlier reference to Rev19:11-12 saying He is Faithful & True. The scripture in John 7:24 echos along these lines as Jesus tells us "not to judge by appearance, but with right judgement" -when one is doing such, one is doing so in the Spirit of the Lord (John 4:24 - God is a Spirit, and those who worship him must do so in spirit and in truth). If you consider apocryphal teachings such as Book of Adam & Eve, interestingly enough when Adam & Eve threw themselves from the cliff and lay as dead it said God, full of mercy and pity, sent his >>Word

His people must realize this before the end will come! “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and THEN THE END WILL COME.” (Matthew 24:14) “If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will hear their land.” (2 chronicles 7:14) However, one must ask themselves where the name of “Jesus” originated and what this name really means? “Therefore the “Lord” Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14) Immanuel (God with us)....not “Jesus”

So what is your explanation? The usual explanation is that "Emmanuel" means "God with us", and the verse would be better. translated, "The Virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and he will be God with us." There have been worse glitches in the manuscripts that we have today, after so many re-writes.

Thank you for this video. I just still have a question: is correct to pray for Jesus or should we pray to the Almighty God (means God The Father) in the name of Jesus? Thank you. I only pray God the Father in the name of Jesus and some told me am wrong and I should pray Jesus too. The Fellowship I was involved with for decades has been preaching His Name is the Word since 1976, probably before you were born. 😉 This has to do with the promised New Covenant in Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36 and elsewhere, and that was ratified by Jesus' death on the Cross (Luke 22;20, Heb 9;12 and 12;24) Remember, Jesus is the "Word made flesh." The Elect of God who the "called, chosen and faithful" are flesh becoming the Word. (See John 17) Oh Glory! This is one of my favorite topics to preach on! "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name." - Rev 3;12

I was blessed to be a part of that body since the late '90's, What the Lord revealed to Thompson concerning What Comes After Pentecost has influenced those called to "come after" Jesus. He was shunned or ignored by most in denominational religion, because he taught Truth, which convicted most, including me (which is why I stayed on, because I knew it was Truth!)

To claim that is like saying we can know the day and hour of His return, which the Bible says no one knows. But I think the evidence is there, that the churches have robbed this name and applied it to something else altogether. A similar distortion applies to Jesus saying, "No one knows the day or hour" when he would return. That was true at the time. But what about when he comes? Or even shortly before he comes? If you read the Aramaic versions of the old testament, the Word of God is throughout. Even in the Hebrew masoretic text has the word of God in it. It is the et (alef/tav). It just doesn't get translated. It's throughout the old testament. But I do agree with you, that Jesus' words are the most important that everything needs to be judged against. Moses said that another prophet would come and that we MUST listen to him. That is Jesus. Although the name "Jesus" is only a few hundred years old and the original Greek is transliterated into English as "Iesous." In Hebrew, his name was Yahshua. This is not to distract. Jesus is the word of God.

The phrase "word of God" appears many times in the Bible. But the Bible never defines the word of God as being anyone's list of which books to include and which to leave out. @@avoiceinthedesert Totally agree about the many sources. For me, it has often been coincidence. One coincidence that I have found is that Jesus' actions throughout the old testament are attributed to an untranslatable word "et" which means "and" in French and Latin I think. The letter vav in Hebrew means "and". It was represented as a picture of a nail in paleo Hebrew. When Jesus was nailed to the cross, he reconnected heaven and earth. Quite a coincidence. The richness of the symbology of the Bible is one source of getting closer to God and it is a source that comes from him. God bless.

Thanks, this is very clear. I love scripture and I take it very seriously but scripture has never referred to itself as being the word of God. It is ridiculous that scripture so clearly defines who the word of God is and yet so few people recognize that scripture is not the word. I hope more people will watch this.

I cannot even handle all the books that are there already. And I have never met anyone else who can either. So the first question is: Do we really NEED more than what we already have? And the most common answer to that is that what we have now is wrong, and the "missing book" changes things in a very significant way. So it does kind of suggest that this "missing books" are just an attempt to undermine what we already have.

Well, we did it in the early days of this channel to make it harder for our enemies to identify individuals throiugh voice recognition. In my case, it seemed an improvement on my natural voice, and so we left it until a stopped doing the narrations a few years ago. The book of John tells you exactly who Jesus was, from old to the New Testament. Jesus is God. The word is God. Father, son and Holy Spirit. Trinity. The first chapter of John introduces Jesus as "the Word," from the Greek logos. This chapter clearly describes Jesus as God. After this prologue, the chapter describes Jesus recruiting the first of His disciples, as well as a conversation between John the Baptist and the Pharisees.

No. Its not. In the written scrolls of the Hebrew language you will find his name in Hebrew. They have taken his name out and put a substitute name in the Gentile language. The bible warns anyone to take or add to the scriptures he will add the plagues... As a baby cries out Abba, father, so we cry out to him. We do not know his authorities name until we are older. As a child matters he learns his daddy's real name. I pray if you are at a mature age you learn his name which is written in Hebrew.

I think you've missed the point of the video, Shelley. Jesus' name is more than the letters you use to spell it. His "name" represents everything he stands for... his authority. That warning you mentioned about taking from or adding to the scriptures is actually specific to the Revelation, not the entire Bible, because the entire Bible did not exist at the time the Revelation was written. The warning is saying that if we change the message in that prophetic book, we risk suffering God's punishment. So it's good you brought that warning up, because talk of Hebrew spellings for Jesus' name are only a distraction from what the Revelation is really saying about Jesus being the Word of God.

Christians don't need canons.
