I wholeheartedly agree about these two amazing men. They are fantastic. Regarding dismissiveness of God, I haven’t actually personally noticed that aging causes dismissiveness of God. My husband died before I came to the point that you mentioned in the last few minutes of this video. I knew a lot of Bible before we were married (second marriage for both of us - - but that is a different story) ... but, my husband was the one to hear my confession that I had never actually read the whole Bible from cover to cover. I felt no need - - pride, I suppose, but my husband finally decided to listen to our pastor and read the Bible through on his own. I am a believer and have been since I was eight years old. My mother tried to disciple me (Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Amen!) and I was a rebellious child, however, she would "preach" and quote scripture at me, to me, around me. I clung to Romans 8:26 because I didn't understand so many things, was willful, unstable in all my ways - - you name it, it resided in me, but I KNEW I was saved, I just couldn't make myself embrace the by-and-by/pie-in-the-sky version about what was supposed to happen next (can you tell I am a child of the sixties?) At any rate, Joe kept telling me that he thought I should read the Bible through, that it would help me make more of an impact in the world for the Lord, so I finally agreed. In fact, we started reading the Bible together. We got a "through the year" Bible reading schedule and started it, "a little here and a little there" didn't fit my brain, so we started in Genesis ... let the preacher skip around, I wanted to actually READ the Bible! I was at home 24 hours a day - - I could read any time I wanted, and one of my friends told me that as a widow, whenever she had spare time, she would read the Bible - - and, I was floored! During the DAY????? the concept had never occurred to me. And, within a few days, Joe and I were not reading together any longer. The bad part about the whole experience is: It was MY!!! decision. And, two years ago, he died. It took me a year and a half to begin to realize how much of life I have lived on my "own" apart from all of my family. And, then the Lord showed me yet one more thing I had been selfish with - - the time that Joe and I could have been together in the Lord, because I could not slow down enough to "do my own reading" and still continue to read with Him. when John Lennox mentioned being surprised about men not reading with their wives, it was as though the Lord nudged me and said: I revealed to that to you, now I am confirming what you understood. God in His mercy has brought me safe thus far ... I know He loves me enough to tell me the truth about myself... I know He has forgiven me and been long-suffering and merciful and showing me just how unloving I have been to Him and to all around me. And! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Amen! I know that in His kindness and mercy, if it be His will, I will be able to use what I have learned from my own rebellion, stubbornness, selfishness, pride, and just plain stupidity to help another young wife NOT make the same errors as I have made ... but, first - - learning how to witness and share Christ with those I do not even know Thank you! For confirming God's Word in my life and mind and encouraging me in my continuing journey through life to eternity.

I have long considered that we human beings hold so desperately to life because we love life and living (with all of its up and downs) so much. As believers in our Savior Jesus Christ, our desire to live is a form of worship of our Creator. More most importantly, to have your husband come to Christ is the pinnacle of that spiritual relationship, so important to our individual lives. We know that God plans our lives so that we become closer to Him as we grow in the LORD. 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 tells us that nothing we suffer is for no good reason - - we receive His comfort through our loss, and then we are able to help others be comforted. Titus 2:13. Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Father God through Christ will take us all the way home in glory. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Amen! Life's challenges have an amazing way of seeing how God has been working in our lives all along - - so we take the next step in our journey into eternity with an excitement we have never known before! Through our losses, if we lean on the Lord, we find a new meaning and closeness with the Father, and see more clearly His love for us frail human beings@@carolwhigham8011

I used to teach bible study. My experience was exactly as Tour describes: the scripts does not reveal itself upon reading. Scripture reveals itself upon prayer. "Lord, what does this mean?" And the veil would be lifted. The dark glass removed. The pastors wife, a student in my class, asked me how i did it. How did i come up with my themes? Well... I just asked God a very hard question. Hus book gave the answer. Perhaps the most remarkable thing was that the same verse gave different answers to different questions at different times. The scriptures are static, but what God reveals through the Holy Ghost is very much alive. (I had the privilege of speaking to Dr. Tour face to face via zoom.)

The riches of this life come from this being consistently in the Word. No other way, no other intimacy, no other hope or patience is had but by these investments in His Word. He lives and so does His Word. What an incredible gift to us that cost many men their lives. It's a secret that is no secret.

As a viewer to this 2 intellectual, scholastic, scientific, born-again people, when i die and when they die and we are all in the presence of God, i wouldn't be their viewer anymore, i will be conversing , praising and worshipping God with them in heaven, holding hand in hand in the presence of the Lord.

"Lord speak to me" I love that !. When I "wait on the Lord " and am quiet, I simply sit and say; "I am here Lord " then listen and wait. I have always wanted to "feel the Presence of God". Today I shall absorb both!!. Thank you. God bless.

I recently moved. My husband and I searched for a church for many months. We visited many local churches. We found very few take the word of God as the bread of life. Many are checking a box. We guarded our minds while we searched, so that false doctrine would not influence us. If you aren't seeking after the Lord, I recommend an abrupt change in your life and mind immediately. There is no luke warm.

Thanking you so very much ! I did speak to God in the early hours of the morning, never asking anything for me. All I wanted was to be taken away… At that same instant, so much began to happen ! I began to be in constant AWE. I often had to look around or to the sky to find out how come suddenly my life changed for the better… I ended up finding that indeed when you feel the Presence, you’re not imagining anything. If you listen to Dr. Rudy Lloyds on NDE, you will find out about the existence of a Presence. I felt that when I was about 5 yrs old. The present situation is unbearable to me… * Once more, thank you for this video. I quite enjoy listening to Dr. John Lennox videos. Catholic Tradition unable to find a Church I can go to safely. Sad to see Christians so divided. Finding the difference between Catholicism AND Evangelism. Tradition carries not so pleasant situations…hard to accept some.

Carry your traditions where you still can. Then move out of them. A baptist minister once said in a service I went to: "Hang on to Jesus and let the rest go. " (His name was Keith Sobey) God has so many saints. You will find those without clinging to anyone particularly. Just be. Just be your unique part of this wondrous CREATION.

This is such a blessing to hear these two men of God share their insecurities. It is unfortunately very easy to think your insecurities to confront people with the gospel are a reflection exposing your insecurity in Jesus. I pray we are emboldened to spread the gospel. I pray for us to reflect the love and peace that has been so gracefully bestowed upon us from you, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God bless everyone.

After watching this video it has been clear to me that my approach to scripture has been like a pigeon pecking at scraps left on the pavement. It has stirred me to open my bible intentionally to learn from the word and hear Gods voice ... and give myself the time to do so. Thank you.

Respect for your dialogue it is so good for young people and atheist students. What dr Lennox says touched my heart...if you want to make carrier you have to deny your faith...and young people are falling into this evil tactics making them greedy and empty. I see myself how I am fighting with hoge dioloma and many languages and skills to find a job as a Christian but I prefer beter the poverty of this short life but with Jesus Christ in my soul and my heart that to be rich and heartless or to lose my Faith because I am alive thanks to God that is all my Life. God blesses you and I hope to see also an interview with Jordan Peterson who is also chosen by God and is persecuted for his faith.
