This video explains the benefits of wings to the speed and safety of vehicles. A mathematical breakdown of the equations involved in the generation of downforce and its effects on the traction of the tires.
The spoiler does not directly make the car any faster. In fact, the spoiler adds to the drag coefficient reducing the efficiency of the car in cutting through the air. However, while generating drag force, the spoiler also generates a significant amount of downforce. The downforce of course depends on the shape of the wing and speed of the vehicle amongst other things. This downforce contributes to the ability of the car to stick to the road. Since the car "sticks" to the road better, it could also allow for a higher velocity when making a curve. This is where the main advantage of the spoiler lies. The spoiler makes the car safer for higher travel speeds. Though to achieve those speeds, the engine and aerodynamic shape are still the most important components.
Lastly, the video makes a comparison between a car with and without a wing. Putting numbers to the examples makes the difference more obvious.

Wings and spoilers have different purposes and you seem to be using them interchangeably. Wing creates downfoce and increases drag, and is literally an airplane wing mounted upside down. A wing is used to help the rear wheel maintain contact when travelling at highspeeds by combating lift. Spoilers mitigate drag and lift by redirecting the air to better fill the low pressure regions left behind by the car and can be useful even lower speed environments

"I absolutely love engineering and consider it to be one of the most rewarding fields to work in. As an engineer myself, I am constantly inspired by the various applications of engineering and how it is used to make life easier and make things work. I am thrilled to be part of a career that is constantly evolving and unveiling new opportunities and possibilities. As a coder, I also appreciate the ingenuity and problem-solving skills that are developed through engineering. Here's to engineering!"

If the car wing down force doubles the down force on the tyres then the speed should double in a curve. But the front may slide out. Suspension would also need to adjust for control reasons. The wing would need to adjust in the straights. This is getting complicated Hahaha 😕 Good work as you illustrate all the components of this matter. A picture is worth a thousand words. You also illustrate how intuition can make use of your insights to quickly go to better places with more thinking. 😀

Engineering thinking can apply to many problems. Some engineers are locked in to one commercial solution and can not even consider the wider matters. Many engineers are employed by government or involved in government projects and can only "toe the official line". I say that because the the world agrees CO2 reduction is critical. The EV car with the big battery is a critical factor. The electical grid connects everyone. Rooftop PV is a dispersed source of efficient electrical power. The grid can concentrate and transport this 'free energy'. The EV car battery does 2 jobs 1.The Daily drive 7wkh. 2.The grid virtual power supply 24/7 and stability by being plugged in 24/7 except in the rush hour. The car can trade power and the rooftop solar PV can trade power with the grid. The money is in the grid. Petroleum is a strategic military reserve asset. I say all this because simple Engineering thinking can quickly put the numbers together. ALSO nuclear power is being put forward by nuclear engineers as the best solution. If a world solution to stop CO2 consider 90% of the world's population is in dictatorships. Pitler in Russia is threatening the unthinkable. All with their own nuclear industries!!!!! The USA military costs will expand from 4% to 40% of the national budget 🙄. The USA is the biggest target in the world. The Engineering thinking is uniquely useful if free of vested interests. I hope I have not been too cryptic.

3:45 Something does not add up. Front wheels are responsible for steering controls. Spoilers are behind the rear wheels. By generating more down force on the Spoilers only reduces downforce aka traction on the front wheels. So this explanation feels misleading at the best.

maybe you should look at the old ford sierra hatchback and its wind tunnel tests ford did, why do you think they put a rear spoiler, front spoiler, side skirts etc on the xr4 ti and cosworth, and there i am thinking of normal street version, could it be because wind tunnel tests showed there was a lift over the rear wheels of 225 kg at 150 km/h, after the big whale tail wing came on there was only 75 kg lift and the 2 rubber lips on the rs 500 there was 15 kg downforce, it wasn't for fun either they put a spoiler on the mk 2 sierra cosworth or the big wing on the escort cosworth and there I mean the street versions, see that the ecsort wrc version later got a different type of rear spoiler than the street version, look at modern street cars today, they also have spoilers and skirts because they both provide better fuel economy and better driving characteristics, even on a small opel corsa 1.0 it is on

Change the title of the video. In a subject where technical terms are extremely important, it's poor form to get that wrong. Wings and spoilers are two entirely different things.

A spoiler is not a wing. In fact, one can think of it as an anti-wing. Please retitle appropriately.
